This week, a skilled upholsterer is completing the most nuanced and artistic work of the process, essential to building furniture I'll enjoy for years to come.
The first part of this process is the application of soft fiber-fill that will add comfortable cushioning to the frame of my Maiden Home furniture and increase its durability. Once this base layer has been hand secured, craftsmen will begin the process of applying the fabric or leather to my furniture.
To finish, my furniture goes through 'trimming,' which refers to the ritual of inspection, removing bits of thread from the upholstery, fluffing cushions, and generally making sure that my furniture is absolutely perfect.
