What is the Jones’ comfort profile?
As our most laid-back silhouette, the Jones features a low seat with generous depth. Down and feather filled cushions provide soft, melt-in comfort with a reclined back that invites you to lounge. Every detail of the Jones was considered for pure relaxation—even its pillowy, down-filled arms provide high-end comfort within its crisp profile.
What are The Jones’ cushions composed of and can they be rotated for even wear?
The Jones Modular features our spring down cushion construction, which we designed to deliver plush comfort with underlying support. At the center of each Jones seat cushion are coil springs encased by a foam jacket and finished with a down-and-feather wrap. This multi-layer construction provides lasting comfort and support as the seat relaxes over time.
The Jones’ back cushions feature a mix of down, feather, and fiber fill; they are sewn with three inner channels to prevent settling of fill or crushing of the cushion over time. All Jones fabric seat and back cushions are fully upholstered and removable, so that they may be flipped for easy maintenance and even wear. Leather cushions are semi-upholstered to provide a sink-in comfortable seat.
Is The Jones available with a down alternative cushioning?
The Jones is available with a down alternative cushion. Down alternative cushions are filled with microdenier fiber, an ultra fine synthetic fiber that mimics the sink-in feel of down and feather. Down alternative cushioning will offer the same relaxed look and feel of standard down, and will carry a similar maintenance profile. The Jones with down alternative will feature our innerspring construction (spring coils wrapped in high-resiliency foam), special down-proof ticking, and channeling in both seat and back cushions. It will incur a $50 upcharge per modular piece.
Can I purchase a new modular piece in the future to add to my existing Jones Sofa or Sectional?
Yes, you may add to your existing Jones Sofa or Sectional in the future, given the modular nature of the collection. You may purchase an individual Jones piece via our Build Your Own Jones experience. Please note: as fabric and leather dyelots may vary, modular pieces purchased on separate occasions may show variations in shade.
Are pieces for The Jones attached?
Yes, all seated Jones pieces will be delivered with easy-to-use connector clips. The pieces can easily be attached or reconfigured in the home. If you desire, connector clips are entirely removable with a standard Phillips head screwdriver or a square head screwdriver.
Note, Square and Luxury Ottomans purchased as add-ons to your Jones will not be made with connector clips for easy movability in your space.
What do The Jones’ legs look like? Are they removable for delivery?
The Jones is made with 2” tall legs that are finished in a neutral chocolate brown and recessed underneath the frame. Legs are generally not visible as you are enjoying your Jones. The Jones’ legs may be removed if needed for delivery with a standard Phillips head screwdriver or a square head screwdriver.
After learning about Maiden Home in 2019, I was delighted when the Jones Modular Sofa was introduced as the layout and dimensions of my living are tricky. Upon receipt of the sofa, I was disappointed that the seat cushions were deformed after only about a week of light and careful usage, and the cushion cover was constantly puckered and misaligned from the cushion. In addition, although the sofa is advertised as modular, the modular seat that did not back up against a wall did not align with the seat backs of the sofa due to only one alligator clip installed.
I contacted Maiden Home customer service regarding the issues above. After weeks of receiving the run around and providing numerous photos and videos as requested, a service technician was finally scheduled to arrive at my home. Although I provided photos and videos to Maiden Home, the service technician informed me that he was not informed of the issues and did not have the parts required to complete the service. He recommended the installation of an additional alligator clip and wrapping the seat cushions in Dacron, and he would require a second appointment after the items were ordered. I relayed this information back to Maiden Home customer service, and I again received responses days or several days after each correspondence. After several weeks of a very slow communication process, Maiden Home stated that they could only cover the cost of the alligator clip but would not cover the cost of remediating the cushions.
The build quality of the couch cushions leaves much to be desired. Because the cushions are wrapped in a slippery material, the performance fabric couch cushion constantly shifts around it, leading to misaligned cushion covers. In addition, the seat cushion is dependent upon a foam material that loses its integrity after light usage. As a result, the seat cushion looks deformed, and as a result, the couch cover puckers. The couch cushion does not look anything like the pictures provided on the website and in the catalogue, and unfortunately Maiden Home customer service was completely unsupportive. If you would like to actually sit on the couch instead of just looking at it, I cannot recommend this couch at all and the lack of customer service is very disappointing.
Hi Margaret, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your experience and Jones. We appreciate your feedback on your communications experience. To explain, we always ask for photos and details to ensure that we have a full picture of each concern prior to bringing the issue to our quality team for review. In addition, we are truly sorry to hear that you're not enjoying the feel of your cushions! The Jones is intended to be a sink-in piece, and upon consulting with our craftsmen, our Quality team felt that the addition of Dacron, a material we do not use in our cushion construction, to your cushion cores would negatively impact the intended design and feel of the piece. Please do not hesitate to be in touch with our Customer Care Team with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org!
I'm so glad we made our first MH purchase with the Jones! We were on the hunt for a piece that was design-forward, comfortable, and modular, so the piece could grow and change as our space changed in the future. We currently live in an NYC apartment and wanted to invest in a product that was high quality, but we didn't want to purchase something that potentially wouldn't easily transition to a new apartment layout. I'm so relieved we came across the Jones! It definitely has the stunning design aesthetic we were looking for in our new sofa that would also give us the flexibility to add pieces in the future.
We also loved the samples and sorting through the fabrics, it was great to have the piece offered in a wide range of colors and materials. It made the process actually fun instead of overwhelming. Also, Maiden Home's team kept us constantly up to date on the construction and shipping of our piece which was a great touchpoint and only made us more excited to finally see our piece.
Now to the Jones itself.... it is SO comfortable! We can't believe it! It is the ultimate lounging sofa and it does not look sloppy. The cushions hold their shape nicely while still having this super sink in feel overall. We haven't needed to fluff our cushions which surprised me for a piece with down cushions (our old sofa had down and the cushions were totally pancaked flat) Everything just always looks and feels great! We chose Harbor Chenille and I love the performance feature of the fabric, I've already spilled on the piece multiple times and it has always been so easy to clean up!
I really cannot say enough good things about this piece and how easy MH made this process, I cannot wait to buy more furniture from them!!
Bottom line: We purchased the Jones in the tan leather and we love it. We would definitely purchase from Maiden Home again.
I was a little hesitant to buy from Maiden Home because I didn’t know much about the brand and didn’t know anyone personally who had purchased from them but I am very glad we did. The style and feel was just what we wanted and was well represented and explained on the website. The upholstery is well done and very well matched across the sofa (another competitor I was looking at explicitly said to expect variability in their leather sofas. I understand why that is a possibility but it wasn’t a very appealing one to me). The cushions are held in place by Velcro backing which I actually didn’t realize when we bought it but it keeps our casual looking back cushions from sliding all over the place, which is very useful with our rambunctious toddler. The customer service was stellar; one team member talked me through the pros and cons of the two leather options and ways to remove/buff scratches from the softer leather we ended up choosing. Another team member preemptively reached out to me when there was concern the delivery window wouldn’t be met. The delivery ended up being on time and was painless. I was also concerned about the separate sofa pieces moving since it is a sectional but the pieces are held together by sturdy looking metal clips and we haven’t noticed any motion or gapping between the pieces. Side note, we are happy with the ottoman configuration rather than a fixed chaise because it gives us more flexibility. The ottoman is not attached to the rest of the sofa but ours is on a rug so it doesn’t move. The price was right for us- it was not the cheapest leather sofa we could find but for the quality and style, I think it is very well priced.
Ours Jones Modular sofa is everything we expected and more! After looking at dozens of sofas in furniture stores and not finding the quality we wanted, we started looking online. We were a bit hesitant to order a sofa without ever sitting on it but we are glad we made the leap with Maiden Home! The Jones provides fabulous comfort and style and we love the way the fabric looks and performs. Customer service was beyond expectations and communication with the Maiden Home team was seamless. We received our sofa early and the local delivery partner treated the sofa as if their own. We wouldn't hesitate to order again from Maiden Home and will recommend Maiden Home to all our friends and family. The quality, comfort and American craftsmanship are absolutely fantastic and customer service is unbeatable!
We are absolutely in love with our new Jones modular sofa. We ordered the Bone textured linen and even though we had to wait a bit longer for the fabric that was back ordered it was definitely worth the wait. The couch is comfortable, sturdy and looks amazing in our family room. The design team at Maiden was fantastic to work with. They kept us up to date on the progress from initial contact, through the design selection and all the way to delivery. I won’t buy another sofa from anyone else.
