Frame
The Hayes' frame is crafted from sustainably forested, solid hardwood. Hand carved and assembled by our North Carolina partners for incredible strength within a sleek profile. Finished with layers of wax for a silky, matte feel.
Sling
The Hayes’ sling is made from a single hide of matte leather or pure white hair-on-hide, sustainably sourced in small batches. Beautiful yet hardy natural materials, they offer incredible texture and a strong durability profile.
Details
The Hayes is finished with thoughtful details that bring function to form. Hand-knotted suede ties lend casual elegance and secure sling to frame for added seating support.

Production
Your piece will be made to order by our craftsmen partners. You’ll receive Build Updates along the way, so you’ll be able to follow along as your piece comes to life.
Shipping
Once production of your piece is complete, it will be picked up from our partner’s workroom and transported to a facility in your local area. This varies by location and typically takes 2-4 weeks. At this point, your piece is ready for delivery and you will be contacted by our white glove partners to schedule a date for your delivery. After you place your order, we will provide you with an estimate of when you will receiving your scheduling call based on your zip code. Feel free to reach out to our team prior to placing your order for an estimate of your shipping timeline.
White Glove Delivery
This piece is delivered via white glove service. A two-person delivery team will arrive during your scheduled time, bring your furniture into your room of choice, unpack it, and take all packaging with them.
Easy Returns
We are happy to accept returns on your piece within 30 days of delivery. If you aren't in love, we will arrange for our delivery partners to pick it up from your home. You will be refunded your entire purchase price minus 10%.
Note cancellations after 24 hours will also be charged a 10% fee to offset the material costs that our partners incur.
Are natural variations to be expected in The Hayes' hide?
Inherent variations in the hide's natural texture, coloring, and hair length may exist and contribute to the unique character of each hide, making each piece one-of-a-kind.
How do I care for The Hayes' natural hide?
Cowhide is not only beautiful but is an exceptionally durable and easy material to maintain. It's naturally stain resistant, and easy to spot clean with warm water or a mild soap and water solution. It can also be regularly maintained using a soft bristle brush to remove dust and prevent dirt from building up.
Can I remove The Hayes’ hide for cleaning?
The hide is nailed to the frame and cannot be removed, however, it can be easily spot cleaned.
What is the wood frame made out of and what finish options are available?
The Hayes’s frame is expertly handcrafted from your choice of solid beech or walnut wood. Our walnut wood is domestically sourced from sustainable forests in the eastern United States, and our beech wood is sustainably forested and FSC®-, and PEFC™-certified.
Each frame is hand carved by our North Carolina partners and finished with layers of wax for a silky, matte feel to bring out the inherent character and natural beauty of its solid wood frame. Due to the natural materials used, each piece will possess a unique, one-of-a-kind character and may slightly vary.
Can I order wood finish samples?
Wood finish samples for The Hayes are available for order here. Please note, variation in grain and texture is to be expected between your wood sample and final piece, given the natural materials used. We’ll be happy to refund your swatch purchase less 10% for handling if returned within 30 days of the original ship date.
