When approaching the design of the Fall 2020 Collection, we were nostalgic for that feeling of walking into our favorite hotel escape, where our needs are anticipated, every detail is thought of, and we want nothing more than to bring the design home with us.
We wanted that exact feeling to come through in designing our latest Maiden Home pieces—through the shapes and design details that invite you to settle in, luxe materials that transport you to an indulgent escape, and American craftsmanship that stands the test of time. From iconic silhouettes to luxury fabrics, now the comfort of your home meets the design of your travels. Introducing The Fall 2020 Collection.
Design has shifted to a curve appeal. Sculptural shapes, oversized silhouettes, and curved statements are having their moment in lieu of sharp, geometric profiles. They are an ode to the intricate forms found in nature and exhibited throughout architectural influences of the 1940s through the 1980s. It’s easy to see their allure—curves soften any aesthetic and not only offer a sculptural appeal to the overall design but pair beautifully with plush, textural fabrics that beckon you to relax. To add to their uniqueness, these shapes require skilled craftsmanship and a balanced approach to design detailing. It was a challenge made for us. From the oversized, plush silhouette of The Bond Chair to the skillfully handcrafted rounded ash wood edges of The Thompson Canopy Bed, we loved weaving these shapely influences throughout The Fall Collection.

Interior influence is cyclical in nature, taking the best in design principles and craftsmanship of the past and layering modernity to fit our current lifestyles. This effortless mix of refined modernism highlights The Fall Collection. The petite silhouette and precision curves of The Perry Chair exemplify this beautifully. A nod to mid-century Danish design, The Perry Chair marries iconic craftsmanship with sophisticated comfort. The curved silhouette is of the moment yet timeless in feel, showcasing its petite proportions. We love taking the beautiful designs of the past and creating beautiful, modern renditions that stand the test of time.

Little did we know that this year would be a time where we found ourselves at home more than ever. It made us rethink how we live within our homes, the design we surround ourselves with, and how our most cherished spaces leave us feeling. We asked ourselves, “What does a true indulgence feel like in a home?” Just like giving yourself a chance to enjoy luxurious fabrics as part of a high-end hotel experience, it's all about enjoying rich textures that offer moments of cozy comfort within your home. That's the driving force behind our new textural fabric additions: Pure New Zealand Shearling, Mohair, and Performance Bouclé.
Take in the luxe, touchable texture of Shearling, ethically sourced from Moore & Giles, one of America’s oldest and most revered leather companies. Or, experience our newest, most durable luxury fabric: Mohair, shorn from Angora goats by JB Martin, manufacturing the world’s finest velvets since 1832. And for a touchably rich appeal, Performance Bouclé is woven of looped yarns for beautiful character and dimension, giving a premium feel with Performance-backed durability. Luxury like this can actually live in a home—it’s all about beautiful textures that can hold up to our modern lifestyles, inspiring us to truly indulge at home.
