Five Ways Maiden Home has Crafted a Better Designer Experience

01/01/2019

Interior designers were some of Maiden Home’s earliest, most vocal supporters - thrilled to finally find a source for high-quality custom furniture that didn’t break their budgets. In the two years since our launch, we’ve developed a community of designers across the country using Maiden Home in some of their most gorgeous projects.

As any designer knows, when it comes to upholstered seating, there are thousands of options on the market, so why do designers keep coming back to Maiden Home? We’re diving into the top five ways that we’ve crafted a better designer experience - and hearing from some of our partners in the trade along the way.

We deliver the best value in high-end custom furniture - bar none.

Luxury custom furniture has long been relegated to the highest-end projects due to its absurdly high price-tag. By eliminating the elements like showrooms, sales people, and heavier-than-a-brick catalogues, we’re delivering the same level of quality and craftsmanship that other brands boast, at a fraction of the cost.

Our quality begins in the heartland of beautiful handmade furniture, North Carolina. Maiden Home developed a network of workrooms that were excited to offer their products via e-commerce for the first time, opening up the modern designer to their work without the hassle of trips to Highpoint or the budget-draining price point.

“Time and time again our clients are blown away by the quality and construction of their chairs and sofas. We love that we can offer such well made pieces and not stretch our client's budgets.” - Leslie Martin, M+M Design Consultants

We don’t wait for designers to follow up with us.

We understand that a project can have dozens of vendors and tracking numbers, so we do everything that we can to take our name off of the “follow up” list. From thoughtful, responsive account managers ready to help you navigate the customization process and answer any questions you may have, to proactive build updates as your client’s furniture moves through the process, we’re taking the headache out of ordering custom furniture.

“Typically with custom pieces, I have to call to check up on the production process to update my client. But with Maiden Home, they keep you in the loop (not the other way around).” - Mary Jo Major

We make customization easy.

Each home and each client are different, from size or configuration needs to the types of material best for a space, we strive to offer a collection that is versatile enough to fit into any home, but curated enough so that the options aren’t overwhelming. Best of all, every one of our pieces delivers in 6 weeks - no extended wait time for some of our materials. We also offer Customer’s Own Material (COM) on all of our styles - giving you the flexibility to create exactly what you’ve envisioned.

Don’t see exactly what you need within our assortment? Your account manager can help you with special customization, from to-the-inch sizing to alterations that will make our pieces perfect for your projects.

“When we began the customization process it became clear that the team at Maiden Home was well versed in the custom furniture industry as it exists, and they created a company that bypasses a lot of the issues that other furniture vendors cannot.” - Alicia Murphy

We deliver quality you can count on.

Each of our pieces is handmade to order in North Carolina by the same craftsmen making custom one-of-a-kind pieces for trade clients across the country. Because of our unique relationships with these regional workrooms, our trade partners can be confident in the quality of the pieces they’re recommending to clients.

We take pride in using heritage techniques like eight-way hand-tied springs and mortise and tenon joinery that give your clients the peace of mind that their piece was built to last.

“My clients and I love that all of Maiden Home’s pieces are made right here in the US by skilled furniture artisans in North Carolina.” - Anne Sage

We get that your timeline shouldn’t depend on us.

Traditionally, designers have had to wait 10 to 12 weeks - if not longer - for delivery of custom furniture. On top of that, delays and interruptions have plagued delivery, especially on pieces coming from abroad. We’ve worked diligently with our craftsmen and delivery partners to dramatically reduce the lead time associated with custom furniture.

It’s simple, the sooner you receive the pieces for your project, the sooner you can hand over the keys to happy clients, on budget and on schedule.

“When the sofa arrived (within the estimated lead time) the client was THRILLED with the comfort and look.” - Mara Silber

We love working with the trade on their most ambitious and exciting projects, and love sharing them with our customers and audience. Have a project that you’d like to share with us? Make sure to tag @maidenhome when sharing to Facebook and Instagram.
