In Pure Form

The Jeanne Console & Felix Chair

Simplicity is amongst the most difficult yet profound achievements in design—a truth embraced by mid-century design masters, and one that continues to guide our philosophy today. It emerges from a careful exercise of stripping away only what is unnecessary to reveal purity in form and composition, as in the Jeanne Console and Felix Chair.

Available as a freestanding and wall-mounted console, the Jeanne reflects the essence of mid-century modernism not only in its considered restraint, but also in its linear shape and material. Each piece is handcrafted in upstate New York from white oak or walnut with doors wrapped in vegetable-tanned Alpine Leather—available in a soft Macadamia or deep Pacific hue—and complete with tonal enameled pulls.

Purposeful details bring beauty and function to the design. Adjustable shelves for belongings of various sizes to be arranged as desired, while soft-close hardware delivers a seamless open and shut. In the freestanding console, push-to-open drawers offer additional space for cherished items.

With sinuous curves that create elegant contrast alongside the Jeanne’s straight lines, the Felix Chair is defined by slender white oak or walnut arms that flow into legs, each steam-bent by specialized artisans in North Carolina. Between them, a masterfully upholstered seat—shown here in a bold Nightfall shade of sumptuous new Marled Alpaca Velvet—appears as if to float above the ground beneath it.
