I agree with another reviewer , the Carmine sofa is cushy-and supportive. I am 5’6” and my hips and back are starting to give me trouble. I needed the height of the cushions to be a bit higher than my current sofa and needed the firmness so I didn’t sink in too much when I sit down. I knew immediately when I sat on it the first time, that I had both. Yet it feels cushy like a high end sofa, not like you’re sitting on a square piece of foam. I was pretty sure the sofa would be well made, I was glad it was more environmentally friendly, and it was awesome that there was a great return policy. It was a little scary buying it without sitting on it first, but the price was actually so reasonable I took a chance. I’m glad I did.

I was a little reluctant to make such a big purchase based on photos, fabric samples and reviews but I am glad I did. We got a 90-inch carmine and it IS GORGEOUS! So simplistic in its beauty - clean lines and very well made. I would definitely purchase again. The entire process from ordering to delivery was seamless.

We moved to Santa fe with the sofa I've had since I was 30. It was time to replace it, but sofas are expensive and I never seemed to have enough money. So I bought an adult sized bean bag chair but could not get out of it with any dignity. Then I bought a cheap sofa that lasted a year. Then I bought a few chairs, but found we were not using the room as it was intended, as a family gathering place. So I saved and saved and then read an article in Bloomberg about MaidenHome having a business model where they build sofas in the US. I sent for a swatch of material, found the perfect darker blue velvet, and took the plunge. We watched the emails about it being built with interest, then the big day arrived and it was here! I could not be happier with it!! We have a 100' sofa that we use daily, for reading, watching movies together, snuggling with the kitties, just living our lives. It was $4K, which is a very reasonable price for a sofa that we will have for years. I would buy from this company again in a second.

I am very pleased with our Carmine. We live in a small row home and really can only have one couch in the whole place so we needed something that would look nice, be comfortable, and be durable (we have a large dog and a baby). It definitely met our needs! I loved that I had more options for the length of the couch than in most stores. It allowed me to really make the piece fit well in the space and maximize its seating. The back of our couch also faces our dining room and I love the sleek lines of the Carmine. I've spent a lot of time on this couch during my maternity leave and it's perfectly comfortable for lounging but firm enough that it doesn't feel like a chore to get up off the couch. Wonderful customer experience as well! I'll be recommending MH to others and using them again.

It took me close to a year to pull the trigger on these. We needed two, and my husband was reticent to purchase sofas without trying them out first. I trusted the reviews, and I'm glad I did, so I'm adding to the chorus of high praise. We ordered Carmines in flannel, and they are lovely. Firm, but not oppressively so. Sturdy, but elegant. We absolutely love our Carmine sofa. I had ordered from another online only retailer 2 years ago, but was unimpressed with the quality pretty much from the start, so I decided to go with what I should've done the first time, which was order from Maiden Home. We wanted a more traditional look, and the Carmine is just what we wanted. We got it in the Cider velvet, which is just lovely, and a breeze from which to remove dog hair! Mused for a long time before ordering my emerald green velvet Carmine (performance fabric). It took a long time to arrive but I have been 100 percent pleased. I have a moderate shedding mini Aussie and a snacking husband that are on the couch all the time. The fur is barely visible and vacs off incredibly easily. Would recommend to other dog owners. The couch is simply elegant and has ample seating for the overall size of the couch. I am sure we will have it for a very long time.

When I moved from a small apartment to a townhome, I knew I wanted to purchase a sofa from maiden home. I have worked on photo shoots with this company, met the founder, and have always been so impressed with the attention to detail and the quality of the construction. I wanted a piece that I would keep forever. I chose the carmine because it effortlessly brings together traditional shapes with a modern aesthetic. I love the role arm details, and the sloping back. I’ve always wanted a green velvet sofa, and the olive velvet is the most beautiful shade that is just unusual enough, but isn’t out of place in my traditional home. It’s also very easy to clean cat hair off the fabric. This sofa is both timeless and neutral enough to keep forever, but also unique enough to make a statement in my home. The cushions are firm and supportive, yet comfortable to curl up for my morning chai. It’s one of my favorite places in the house to sit. My husband was skeptical of buying a sofa without sitting on it, (he’s 6’4” and always uncomfortable with low-backed sofas) but he loves the firmness of this sofa. The whole process with maiden home was effortless and felt luxurious. I got email updates of the progress that was being made on the couch, which was exciting. I love that the Carmine is so neat and pretty! The tailored look is appealing and lovely yet very seriously comfortable. I had my Carmine covered in Merino Dusk and it looks and feels delicious! I ove that I can let the dogs on the sofa and I don't have to hold my breath, the fabric is sturdy and will last a long time. This was a great choice and I have no regrets! Although the target consumer for this furniture are millennials, I am in my 60s and downsized to a condominium. After purchasing a lot of very expensive custom made furniture over the years, I decided to try this brand. I am happy I did! The time frame was right on target, and customer service is great!

We have a farmhouse style home in Denver with one main living space. Our basement family room has been turned over to our 3 kids. We don't have large rooms so finding a sofa that was not too large for our narrow living room was key. We also needed to find a sofa that was great for crashing after work and school, watching a family movie or football game and having friends over for entertaining. We love our Carmine sectional in Flannel velvet! I was a little worried it would be more purple-hued based on the website but it is a lovely true and warm grey. It is clearly well made and very comfortable. We can fit the whole family on it and everyone has a spot to get comfortable. Stylish and clean lines. It’s classic shape reminds me of my mother’s beautiful couch from her apartment in Switzerland that has stood the test of time in my parent’s home. IMG_2510.jpeg

We love our Carmine! First, we ordered the 100" and wish it could be longer. We really like the firmness and most of all, my husband and I can both lay down at the same time due to the length and depth. We love binge-watching our shows with Carmine.

I'm an interior designer in San Diego and recently purchased the Sullivan sectional in cream linen and the Carmine in the lagoon velvet for a client. The client was over the top pleased with every detail of the sofas, the price, delivery and the emails updating the progress on the construction. We purchased the Carmine in indigo performance chevron, and are completely happy with the purchase. Out top priority was to have a quality piece of furniture and we definitely got it. I appreciated the updates throughout the process and found the customer service to be spot-on. Comfort is good - this is a sitting sofa, not a lounging one, but it works well in our living room - I would love it if there were matching chairs. The only thing I would like to have seen is something a bit higher. - possibly an inch higher in the legs and an inch higher in the back. Our home has very high ceilings (and my husband is tall) so the sofa looks a bit short overall - but I will get used to it. We love the quality and are happy with the purchase - would purchase again.

After many months of research and viewing hundreds of sofas, an online article led me to highly rated U.S.-made furniture. Maiden Home was a new brand to me. Immediately, I was drawn to the Carmine. Tight back sofas aren't that easy to find, and most have button tufting as a detail, something we didn't want. Maiden Home sent swatches (twice, I think), and we decided on the 95" long slate velvet. After it was ordered in late March there were periodic updates on its progress. Delivery was on time; the sofa was beautifully packed and handled by the moving service. It is a firm seat, with some give to the cushions. The quality is first rate. I was initially afraid to order it in velvet, since we have a cat and a dog. Customer service assured me that the fabric wipes off easily, and it does. It looks beautiful with our eclectic furnishings. It is very comfortable; two people, cat and dog fit nicely. If you are not a fan of loose back pillows and do not want to sink into your sofa, this is a perfect choice. We've had a lot of sofas: antique, bargain, mid-range and used. This is hands-down superior to them all.

Originally, I had ordered the Warren, a beautifully made sofa which was super comfortable but too low for me. After speaking with customer service, I exchanged it for the Carmine. The carmine is a beautiful, comfortable, sturdy, perfect sofa for me and my family. Every process with Maiden Home was facilitated by its customer service, delivery team, etc. A truly professional, knowledgeable, and helpful team. I highly recommend Maiden Home. As soon as the Carmine was unwrapped in my living room, I literally had an "ooooh, aaaah" moment because it was so beautiful. The lagoon fabric was so gorgeous and soft. The couch is super comfy but not squishy. You can see the craftsmanship that has been put into making this piece of furniture. I am already looking forward to buying some accent chairs from Maiden Home!

We are several weeks now into our new Carmine (Tuscany leather) sofa -- and it is living up to its billing! We had initial reservations about buying a sofa without having tested it -- aka, sitting on it in a showroom -- before committing to purchasing it. But Hannah helped us through that and steered us toward the Carmine, based on the solid support we wanted (we didn't want to sink too deeply into the cushions; and we didn't want the sofa backed with cushions). The Carmine turned out to be just the right support/comfort we were looking for, and the leather is positively buttery. Cannot recommend high enough. Also, the delivery folks were top-notch; it wasn't easy getting it (95 inches) through the front door of our Manhattan apartment, but they did it.

We bought the carmine and ottoman and are extremely pleased. The process was great - it took awhile d/t Covid, but delivery was great and the sofa is just beautiful. The design is nice, and we love the tight back. The couch always looks nice, it's firm and supportive and seems like it will last a long time. It took me such a long time to finally make a decision on a sofa. I had looked for months and kept coming back to Maiden Home. I had a hard time deciding because I loved the Ludlow and the Carmine as well as the Crosby. I chose the Crosby and I absolutely love it. It is so beautiful and comfortable! I love the fabric! I chose the Oatmeal and couldn't be happier.

I ordered the Carmine for our guest house living room. I liked that I could order it in a performance fabric and see large swatches of the fabric in advance. It arrived in a timely manner, much faster than the rest of the custom furniture I have ordered during the pandemic. I was also appreciative that the customer service team was able to work with me on the delivery as our home requires a smaller truck in the driveway. Overall the furniture quality seems to be really great with good attention to detail. The price is excellent. My only critique like others have mentioned is that I wish the legs came in a turned style. They appear too modern for the sofa and having an alternative option I think would have been nice. Overall I am pleased and look forward to seeing if it stands the test of time.

I ordered the Carmine sofa in Wisteria performance basketweave and it is stunning! I have had it for over a year now and it has held up very well. I am a designer and have ordered sofas in much higher price ranges that have not performed this well. I get compliments on this sofa often! Maiden Home customer service was also exceptional during the order process. 5 stars!

We've had our Carmine couch for about a month now, and are very pleased with it. Looks great and is quite comfortable -- good combination of cushy but supportive. The Merino Granite material is very soft, and seems durable enough to withstand two young children (we hope!). FYI, we got the latte legs, and there are tiny surface holes all over them -- I think it's just the wood, and it doesn't look bad at all, but when I first noticed them, I thought my kid had damaged a leg until I realized that they all look like that. Not particularly noticeable, but figured I'd mention it. Regardless, we do love this couch and would very much recommend it and the company. Was also quite impressed with how fast it was made and delivered!

Fits with any decor and is the most comfortable sofa ever! We have back issues and this sofa is the first that we can sit and lay on without pain. Simply beautiful.

Like many others, I read the amazing reviews and took the leap to purchase my Carmine without ever seeing it. I ordered swatches and poured coffee on them to see if they would stain. I thought I would go for a dark gray couch to hide any accidents but the fabric's resistance to liquid gave me confidence to purchase a lighter blue fabric. I originally wanted linen but the melange weave was softer and tighter. I also did a lot of measuring against my old Havertys couch so I had a better understanding of the Carmine's dimensions. The Carmine took 4 months to get to me but it was worth the wait. The piece is very hefty in terms of weight. The framing is definitely solid. I'm glad I purchased from Maiden Home and not Bassett. The Carmine has eight-way hand-tied springs whereas the Bassett tailored couch only has coiled. I especially enjoyed Maiden Home's updates and being able to check in at any time to see the status of my Carmine. I purchased an Ethan Allen bed at the same time and there was no update whatsoever. I just had to wait in the dark and hope they didn't delay my order. Maiden Home lives up to their reputation. They provide quality furniture and excellent customer service. I would highly recommend.
