I was incredibly skeptical that this sofa would be as good as the photos given its relatively lower price vs the other sofas we were considering (HomeNature and Baker at $8-12k) but this is truly as promised.. The lines are stunning and the mohair fabric is a perfect fit for the fireplace seating area in our home office. Never has my designer pushed me towards the cheaper option - this is truly the first time she did and i'm very happy we listened (plus I used to live on Varick street!) - we paid less and got more just as our designer promised. Thank you.

I just ordered 2 olive green velvet varicks. I am SO in love with them. They are beautiful, seem very well made, and I am not too worried about my kids around them. The velvet is amazing and will wear well it seems. Good fabric choice for kids! The lines and the style is very sophisticated. They are very comfortable and I do not have to fluff the back pillows like my RH sofa. I originally found MH because I was looking at 2 very pricey sofas with a year long wait. someone said you should check out MH. I was worried about not being able to sit in them first, but I am SO SO glad I ordered these. I cannot stress how impressed I am with this company. They spent a lot of time talking through styles on the phone and they shipped incredibly fast. Delivery was smooth and then I got a handwritten thank you note from the founder. I have already recommended MH to all my friends and will definitely buy from here again! 5 stars!

I’ve seen it in many fabrics and shades, and it all looks gorgeous. I love my personal pick of performance melange weave in shell, but I do think this sofa looks best in mohair. It’s well-made and the description says it’s best, truly a modern yet timeless design that I think would look good in any space. I’ve binged many a TV episode on this sofa and the sink in comfort is perfect.

I received my 85" Varick in Emerald Velvet almost a year ago and I have to say that this has been one of the best purchases I've ever made! I spend quite a bit of time working remote and lounging on my Varick-- it has held up very nicely with very minimal maintenance. I've also received so many compliments from guests and never have to worry about spills or accidents when eating-- I literally just wipe everything away with a warm sponge and a little soap.

We did a large Custom Varick. My designer ordered and it’s such a bonus to be able to do COM on MH furniture! LOVE the sectional, looks great and is super comfortable!!

Like others on here, I was very hesitant to make such a large purchase (both in shipping size and $) over the internet without the ability to sit on this sofa first. In fact, I deliberated over this decision for over a year, reading and analyzing other reviews waiting for someone or something to push me over the edge to order. Finally I just took a leap of faith and can honestly say my only regret is that I waited a year and wasted time when I could have been enjoying this beautiful and comfortable sofa in my home this whole time. It is far beyond expectations in comfort; the fabric is gorgeous and as represented in the sample I ordered (Performance Linen: Creme); the quality of construction/lines/seams are far better than anything I've seen in stores. For reference, I am 5'11" and my husband is 6'2" and we are both very comfortable lounging on the Varick (85"); I mention this because some people had concerns, as did I, about the low back profile or if it's deep enough in the seat. However, the cushions on the back create plenty of additional height and support for your back so you don't feel the low profile of the sofa frame. The sofa even arrived ahead of schedule and for a completely custom piece it was still way faster than other online retailers who have only one size option and a small handful of fabric choices. All in all, don't hesitate any longer, order it now and begin to enjoy comfort and perfection!

We ordered the Varrick sectional 148x148. We needed a larger sectional for our space and I liked the clean lines of this one. After shopping all over, we decided to order from Maiden Home and I'm glad we did. Their timeline for production and delivery was correct and their communication was great. The delivery was smooth. The sectional is more comfortable than we thought-- we all enjoy the long cushions (great for stretching out for a nap). The back is lower than we thought, but it opens up our great room more. I like the fabric, we ordered Performance Linen in Creme. It's holding up really well so far with several teenagers and a large dog. We also have two ottomans which are great, but I wish they had a storage ottoman option. The sectional feels well-made. I would order from Maiden Home again.

Bought the Varick sofa L-shaped sofa in Performance Velvet (Cider). We love the color, and the comfiness of the sofa. It's perfect. Delivery and install was easy.

Buying without seeing it in person was a leap of faith but so glad we did. We bought the very large Varick sectional. It is gorgeous and comfortable. Large enough to sit at least 8 adults comfortably. Fabric is lovely and construction is top notch. I am hopeful the fabric holds up to heavy use.

The Varick couch is truly a work of art! So beautiful and fits our space perfectly. The seats are more narrow than we thought but it may be due to how thick/new the pillows are - still very happy with it!!

Loves: 1) Performance tweed snow fabric is amazing. Truly beautiful. 2) Bench cushion and style, the design and construction is substantial. Lots of compliments! 3) Comfy and my favorite seat in the home Notes: 1) The bench cushion fabric will wrinkle no matter what, but the pillows fare much better. Be sure to turn the pillows and bench cushion so things are sat on evenly. 2) I would have gone longer 80" or 80" instead of 75" which is really a comfortable sit for just 2. 3 is tight. 3) Bench cushion is soft, not as firm as I'd prefer

This is my second couch from Maiden home. It’s very comfortable and not too deep for me (5’7) and my husband (6’1). I had performance velvet and it was easy to blot liquids. Our dog’s fur was easy to clean off. The shade of our couch was a bit darker than the swatch. Delivery was seamless!

Ordered two couches, four chairs and a king size bed from Maidenhome for our new home. Every single piece is exquisite; solid, well made/sewn and all so comfortable. Customer service and communication is top notch and they were true to their lead time, which in this day and age, is a miracle. White glove delivery with the friendliest guys, every aspect of furniture purchase was seamless. A few points for others ordering: the Varick sofa is 40” deep (armrests) the seating is very comfortable but more shallow at about 24” deep. Fits us perfectly as we are not that tall, but something to think about for those that are. This sofa and the Mercer chairs are low profile, which we love but again may be a consideration for some. We love all of the pieces we purchased and they look marvelous in our new home!! We need a tan to upload pictures so we can show our gorgeous rooms!!!

First purchase with Maiden Home. Top notch quality. Really nice sofa. We have only had for a few months so I can't speak to the long term quality but so far the Varick has met/exceeded all my expectations. The Performance Velvet is gorgeous and practical. Overall, very comfortable. Like another reviewer mentioned though the back may be a bit too low for a taller person expecting to lounge. Our family ranges from 5'3"-5'7" so works fine for us, though on occasion my S.O. would like more head/neck support while sitting, but even if we had known this beforehand it would not have been a deal breaker. Also as mentioned in other reviews, the bench seat requires frequent smoothing out if visual asthetics are a priority - I don't mind a little extra fuss as the bench seat is worth it in my opinion (and this may just be the velvet, its possible other fabrics may not do the same.) I truly appreciated the range of lenghths offered for the Varick. We have a small home with an awkward shaped living room. We don't have the room for multiple seating options. We have a 90" Varick and two of the matching ottomans (one larger and one small) this way if we have company we can scoot the ottomans around for stand-alone seating and when its just us we can make a giant nest for movie nights and lounging. Ottomans are probably not something most people think about when purchasing a sofa. I am truly thankful the Varick had some very nice sizing options to match this beautiful sofa as these ottomans have been a game changer for our living space. The only caveat to this glowing review is my experience with the shipping process. This may be because we live in the middle of nowhere. However, the sofa eventually arrived and in perfect condition. Communication with the shipping company was difficult to say the least. And once Maiden Home released the shipment on their end it was out of their hands. MH did their best to help me out but there really wasn't much they could do. I mention this not to be critical of my buying experience but rather to let prospective buyers know your patience may be required.

We ordered the Varick in Alabaster Chenille and love it. At our first party someone spilled red wine on it, which wiped right off. We have a large picture window in our living room that also happens to be the best wall for a couch. The Varick is perfect because it's so low, but also has a lovely depth for comfort. I love the filling. The back pillows need to be fluffed, but we accept this since other foams tend to be stiff. I also could not believe that it came in such a timely fashion. We couldn't be happier!

Purchased Varick sofa and chair & half both in taupe performance velvet with a Mercer side chair in cider. The Mercer keeps it all tidy while the Varick is casual elegance. I robustly tested the swatches (chocolate, wine, hot sauce) and all came out clean with just soap and water. I also tested most west coast designers for comfort but ended up buying Maiden Home sight unseen. So glad I did as I found them to be the most comfortable by far. It's been nearly a year and the pieces look as good as new although I fluff and rotate the cushions and keep a throw for the 3 dogs. Highly recommend the bench seat and longer length for comfort. Not for slouchers, more for loungers.

I did this couch in the performance melange weave, shell color, and it couldn’t be more perfect. The quality is second to none and after lounging, the cushions hold their form well. Was able to order swatches before and because I have a dog I took her paws to the materials to see which would withstand, and I’m 5 months in with no wear and tear at all on the couch. So extremely pleased with every aspect of this purchase. Both of my MaidenHome purchases exceeded expectations, which is nice given it’s not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for and more. We bought the Varrick sectional some months ago and while it gets high marks for design as well as cushion support and comfort… The fabric is very scratchy and uncomfortable. It should not be offered as an option for this caliber and price point of a product. When any part of your skin rubs up against it it feels coarse and bristly. A small swatch of fabric that I ordered in advance did not have the same rough feel as what is on our couch. The description on the website was “Performance Tweed is a handsome woven fabric with a soft, velvety texture.” Is anything but soft and velvety I was hoping that in time it would break in but we resorted to covering our brand new couch with throws in order to sit on it. A bit too pricey to be this frustrated every time we sit on it

I love our new couch so much. It is sleek, high-quality, and so comfortable. I was nervous to order a couch without ever sitting on it, but I was pleasantly surprised when I first sat on our Varick. Thank you, Maiden Home. I look forward to buying more pieces in the future!

arrived quick, i know its just a sofa but its absolutely gorgeous. we just hired a designer for our home (after we bought this) and shes in love as well and impressed with the quality.

So far I’m impressed with the quality of the Varick chaise sectional. It’s comfortable and beautiful. I didn’t pay attention to the height of the sectional and was surprised my 6 foot husband is happy with my choice. Sectional arrived when expected (one major reason I choice the Varick). Delivery company was just okay. Will be buying more pieces in the near future.

we purchased a Varick in performance basketweave - so far so good. This is our main tv watching sofa and it’s importantly very comfortable. The chaise is nice and wide which allows for effectively 2 people to stretch out or cuddle on it. Fabric is as shown on the swatch. Overall a nice experience and a well constructed high quality sofa.

How do you possibly meld two completely different styles into beautiful and cohesive decor? With Maiden home…that’s how. My husband and I have such different tastes and we had taken over a year to agree last time we bought a sofa (20 years ago). It was no surprise to find ourselves befuddled again. However, after finding Maiden Home, we knew this was our answer. The Varick sofa is classic, well made and timeless. It works to blend our tastes and is probably the best made piece of furniture we will ever own. It’s comfortable and roomy and stays fresh looking even after sitting on it. A little patting on the bench seat and it looks perfect. We ordered in velvet and it elevates our space. Thank you Maiden Home for making such great well built and beautiful furniture.

Our varick is 100", lagoon performance velvet. We've had it a year and intentionally waited to post a review to give an idea how it held up. For places we sit frequently, the back cushion stays in a squished state even when we try rotating and fluffing it. The back cushion is also a few inches short of the size to cover the entire back of the sofa so we end up with a gap. The seat is still as comfortable as the day we got it, perhaps more so. We love that this is a single cushion that is tied to the sofa, it has held up very well. The fabric withstood our child's spills and dirt. Our dog's long fur wipes or vacuums right off it. The fabric color looks great in south light. I find the back is a bit too short for me but other people in the household love it. Check the measurements if you like more upper back / neck support on a sofa. Make sure you rotate where you sit or be ok with crushed looking cushions. If I were to buy again, I would try something different - maybe Jones. Good luck!

We are so happy with this sofa. We purchased the 75’’ olive performance velvet and it looks exquisite in our new living room. It’s comfortable, love the curves, and is the perfect seating hight. The back is a little low but it’s perfect for us because it keeps us from blocking our view to our living room. Highly recommend.

We ordered the Varick right after it debuted as a style, so I wasn't completely sure what to expect. We are so in love with this sofa - it's perfectly cozy for lounging, yet it still looks chic with the straight lines. The seat is deeper than we expected (in the best way), so its a great napping sofa too. The cushions are cushy without losing shape every time you sit down. We are definitely sofa "loungers" vs. sitters, so I think that's why the shape works so well for us. I'm not sure this style would work the best for sitting all the time. We got the cream color in chenille and it's been great. The Crypton has seemed to protect the light fabric from our dog... so far so good!! So happy with our maiden home purchase!

The blue mohair varick sofa is everything I hoped it would be - comfortable, right proportions, and mohair has a sheen that can’t be beat. Immediately took a nap on it once it was delivered.

We ordered the Varick online after a long, frustrating, and ultimately failed effort in pandemic couch-buying with other companies. Maiden Home had great customer service and was quite reliable in terms of their estimated production and delivery timeline. I appreciate that the couch was manufactured domestically and am overall pleased with the quality of materials. Nonetheless, I just don't love this couch the way I wanted to. The design is a miss. Not having had a chance for a "sit" test due to the pandemic, we relied a lot on the published measurements and had a good idea what we wanted. We found that the published measurements were a bit misleading compared to the in-person reality due to the significant thickness of the frame and back cushions. I'm 5'5" and a medium build- the couch sits comfortably for me if I want to sit straight up in a formal way- my heels hit the ground, the back cushions come right up against my back and the seat right up against the backs of my knees. It's not a lounger for me by any stretch, though, which is what we were looking for. My husband is 6'2" and relatively slender. This couch is much too petite for him to be comfortable. He has claimed the corner, because it's the only spot large enough for him- and the corner already (after 1 month) is developing a permanent dent where he sits. It's making me a bit pessimistic about how it will wear into the future. And the kicker is that, even though the couch feels small when we sit in it, it looks a bit too large in our living room. As if someone took what was supposed to be an elegant comfy couch and smashed it down so that it bulged and spread from the sides. It was also the case that Maiden Home asked us to measure the door/entryway prior to ordering to make sure it would be deliverable- we did and per the measurements we had plenty of extra just-in-case space. But when the delivery folks got here, they had a really tough time, had to to unbox it to get it in the door, and made us sign a waiver releasing them of any responsibility if there were delivery-related damages. If I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't buy this couch. However, at this point I'm not going to return it either since it's still the pandemic with all the supply chain issues etc, and we have a a good enough bird in hand.

I loved the look of my Maiden Home Varick sofa in performance velvet, but one year later I’m a bit disappointed in how it’s aged. There is significant ripping of the fabric on the cushions and even some on the couch itself. I take excellent care to fluff the cushions and rotate them appropriately. I’m just one person, so the sofa is not getting heavy use. I expected more for the price. I will say the stain resistance of the fabric is great, and it spot cleans easily, sometimes just with a little water. It felt high quality, so I’m surprised and a little frustrated.

We’ve waited a year to write this review, to really see how we felt after having lived with it. The fabric matched the swatch exactly and it feels luxurious and has a cashmere softness to it (Performance Tweed Charcoal). The dark color has lasted well and still looks great. Where the sofa falls short are the back cushions. Within one month they started to lose shape and buckle towards the center. The sofa is very lightly used - mostly weekends - so it’s disappointing that it’s been worn down so fast. Unfortunately it’s in our living room and in a very visible location. Customer service team is very nice but they can’t do anything about replacing it. Not worth it at this price point. Expected a much more durable sofa

We were SO excited about this couch. We had never spent so much money on a furniture item before, and we felt that this was a huge investment for our family. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t do it again if given the chance. Let’s start with the good: It’s so hard to find a non-toxic sofa. Chemicals abound in most brands these days, and we just wanted our living room to be non carcinogenic. Maiden Home seemed like a great choice in that regard. Also, the couch is extremely comfortable. You just sort of melt into it. The color (bourbon) is just beautiful. The bad: The Tuscan velvet scratches so easily I was absolutely shocked. If you have kids, pets, a belt on, or if you simply forgot to trim your nails today you will permanently scratch this fabric. It’s insane. The wooden buttons on my pants scratched this couch. Within one week of having it in the living room it had been absolutely decimated by scratch marks. My five year old drove a toy car over it and it left streaks. I’ve never seen anything like this before. Keep in mind, this was a $13,000 custom made couch. I was flabbergasted. Apparently this is more of a decorative couch- not something made to actually live your life on. Buyers beware.

This company seems fine, the problems all start when your furniture arrives at their “local carrier”. Canceled deliveries and excuses will start, they never pick up the phone and blow you off.; truck is “broken”, rescheduled for two weeks later… great…This would never happen with a real company like Restoration Hardware, etc. I should have paid attention to the other comments complaining about similar situations.

In summary, MH’s response to the problem below is not indicative or within the spirit of a business trying do the right thing for their customers. This includes accepting accountability for mistakes when they happen. Unfortunately, it has been a very costly experience as the refund is subject to a 10% fee in addition to providing MH with full reimbursement for their shipping expenditures and any costs relating to damages that may occur on its way back. Problem: I informed MH I received 2 sofas in a light gray color which should have been in a darker gray color; for this reason I needed to return them. I also stated I felt it was reasonable to expect to be refunded the full amount of the purchase given the circumstances. I sent 3 photos to support my claim. 1st photo - the shade of the swatch I received is a darker gray than the swatch attached to the sofa.   2nd photo (fabric selection web page) - the shade of the sofa is presented as dark gray for the “Night” fabric and comparatively the same to the swatch I received. 3rd photo (web page called “shop the look”) - the shade of the sofa is light gray for the “Night” fabric showing a close likeness to the sofas I received.  Regarding the 1st photo, MH stated a slight variation is to be expected and their teams confirmed it was within tolerance of what they expect for the variance in color. Regarding the 2nd & 3rd photos, MH explained the difference of surrounding colors and tones played a large role in how the fabric appeared fully upholstered in the 2 photos. I assume their use of the word “large” is meant to explain the large color difference between the 2 photos on their website for the same fabric. Within a week of having received the 3 photos, MH modified the color on the “fabric selection” web page to represent a lighter color of gray for the “Night” fabric. One can surmise the prior image in the 2nd photo showing the “Night” fabric as dark gray was in error. Irrespective to MH’s error in representing the “Night” fabric as a dark gray color as seen in the 2nd photo, MH fails to acknowledge this was the color depicted in the photographic image at the time of my purchase, which held the promise of what was expected to be delivered.
