I can't begin to explain how beautiful this bed is in person! My husband and I are thrilled that we chose The Thompson for our new home, and admire almost daily how beautiful the hand-carved Natural Ash wood is. We wanted a neutral color but something that complimented the wood, so we decided on the Flax Performance Textured Linen. It was a breeze to assemble, looks like luxury, and is the right amount of classic and chic style. We'd been waiting to find the right piece, and this checked all of the boxes.

I looked for months for a "forever" bed. I seemed to have put everything else in front of buying the bed I really wanted, so it was a year-long search. I'm from NC and have shopped the Highpoint Furniture Market, but it can be so overwhelming. Then I found Maiden Home. Hand-crafted in NC! I was excited. They had one bed that filled all my requirements - by this point I was a bed expert! It had slats so I didn't need a boxspring although I could have a foundation if I wanted. They sent me fabric swatches so I got to pick and actually feel the fabric. It took a couple of months, but actually came earlier than I expected. It was brought in and set up expertly! And is it beautiful! I love everything about it. I'm glad I searched and found this company and this amazing bed. (Thompson bed.)

My wife and I purchased a Thompson king sized bed from Maiden in the height of COVID. Once delivered the specialist set the bed up for us in less than 30 minutes. It is an extremely high quality bed that looks great. The materials are extremely high quality. After nearly 2 years of use we started to hear a creak. After reaching out to customer service they quickly identified the issue and set us new parts and a specialist to set it all up. They are a company that truly cares about their products and their customers.

I originally fell in love with the Thompson canopy bed, but it wasn't right for the scale of my space. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see it offered in this non-canopy version! The handcarved wood details are the shining star of this frame. I went with the natural ash finish because the grain is so pretty and it fits perfectly within my decor plan to create an organic, light, and relaxing bedroom retreat. The frame is so well made and I could really notice the difference in quality seeing each part fit seamlessly and solidly together as it was being built. I also love how the mix of high-quality fabric and wood looks on the headboard. This bed screams elegance and luxury and I'm so, so happy I went for it! I've wanted an upholstered headboard for a very long time with the matching side finished but nothing I saw on retail was satisfactory. It wasn't until we discovered Maiden Home that we felt the Thompson Bed would look just right in our new home. After months of ordering fabric and wood samples we came up with the exact right combination and we are thrilled and delighted with our purchase. The bed is gorgeous and comfortable and makes our bedroom warm and inviting. And an added bonus was it came earlier than expected. We absolutely love the Thompson bed in natural ash with the sky velvet fabric. It's gorgeous and feels very luxurious. It's very well made and it looks stunning in our new bedroom. It was a no-brainer to select a bed that was so elegant - it’s such an amazing statement piece that elevates the entire room. You can really see the expert craftsmanship in every detail, including the welt finished edge of the upholstered headboard and the rounded corner detailing of the hand-carved frame. I chose the Polar Performance Boucle fabric, because it adds subtle texture to the room but doesn’t compromise on durability. My parents travel to see us and often stay for a couple of weeks at a time. The Thompson Bed is comfortable enough for them to stay for long periods and also recharge after a long day of chasing after a 2-year-old and a newborn!

I searched high and low for a high quality canopy bed and was thankful for a prior review that mentioned looking into the RH canopy bed but finding this one to be much more satisfying. The Thompson bed is just beautiful, watching the white glove delivery guys build it i could see how well it all fit together and I appreciated it even more. Hope to have this for decades and can't wait to order more items for clients and myself down the road.

We absolutely love our Thompson Bed and are so happy with our purchase! We chose the headboard upholstered in Buff Performance Chenile I'm obsessed - it's the perfect neutral cream tone and is super soft to the touch. The quality of the bed is unlike anything I've experienced - you can tell it is extremely well made. The Natural Ash finish is beautiful and easily complements our hardwood floors and other neutral wood finishes in our bedroom. Delivery and assembly were smooth as well. We've had this piece for 2 months now and it's been such an upgrade to our bedroom. Seriously impressed and now eyeing a Perry Chair for the corner of our bedroom to add some coziness.

I love the Thompson bed. After months of shopping, this bed was the perfect choice. Beautifully crafted with a clean yet rustic design. The Tuscan leather in Camel with natural ash wood was exactly what I wanted. So happy with this purchase.

Love, love, LOVE my new Thompson bed! I was concerned that it might not be solidly constructed enough to prevent movement but no issue there. The wood and finish are gorgeous and flawless. The upholstery is absolute perfection. There are two very minor complaints which I think I can work around… 1) the 2 inch inset makes it a bit difficult to reach under and lift my king mattress when making the bed. Answer? A 2 inch high bunky board. 2) my existing mattress slightly reveals the slats at the corners, in other words the mattress doesn’t fit perfectly, it’s a tad small for the space provided for the bed. Answer?… 1) thick enough bedding that will fill the majority of those spaces or 2) get over it! I admit I’m a relentless perfectionist. The delivery duo did a superior job of bringing the parts in without marring the new paint in my foyer and stairway (unlike the movers who gouged the walls and window woodwork) and put the bed together in no time and with great skill. Plus, they were extra friendly despite their heavy delivery schedule. All in all an exceptional purchase and installation experience. I highly recommend this piece. Thank you Maiden Home!

a portion of my bed arrived slightly damage (probably happens en route). It was cosmetic so I took the shipment and noted it in the delivery form. i called maiden home and spoke to a kinda intelligent person in their New York office who diagnosed and addressed the issue immediately. A replacement part was sent and in two weeks they had scheduled someone to come in and install it. The bed is beautiful but this company provided an experience that’s even more beautiful. I get that things can break in transit - comforting to work with a company that’s fair, classy and honest to deal with when stuff happen. Will definitely shop with MH again!

There is no question that this bed is well-made and that the design is timeless. However I was disappointed in the major variations in wood color. Of course wood grain and shades will vary, but given that each bed is made-to-order and *not* inexpensive, I assumed the builders would attempt to make the bed frame wood colors match or at least *symmetrically* inconsistent. I have a photo showing the four headboard wood panels, and how they alternate from very light wood to very dark wood. It’s the first thing I notice when I look at the bed, and for this reason it didn’t meet my expectation.
