We ordered the Carmine sofa in performance linen and could not be happier with the style, quality, price, and absolute best customer service! We ordered several fabric samples and based on our lifestyle decided on performance fabric. It looks and feels like a linen, but I love knowing that I don't have to worry about stains. It's amazing that there are eight options for size. Normally once you select a style you may have the choice of a sofa or a loveseat. We measured our space, the chairs opposite and we were able to select the perfect size. Once we placed the order, we received emails throughout the build process updating us and then an email about setting up a delivery date. Even the delivery was seamless. They arrived right on time and were professional and quick. I highly recommend Maiden Home and can't imagine looking anywhere else for a sofa, sectional or chair.

We were so impressed with the customer service; from ordering samples, to bi-weekly e-mailed production updates, to delivery that happened ( precisely when they said it would). I order a lot of furniture for clients and this experience was delightfully smooth and stress-free. The quality of the piece was also noteworthy with beautiful upholstery work and a high quality frame. The cushions deliver the comfort we were hoping for. The only, albeit, small downside to this process is not being able to visit a retail store to try each sofa, or look over options, but the return policy has you covered. We're so happy with this sofa though, I can't see why anyone would want to send anything back!!

I was hesitant to purchase an expensive piece of furniture on line without sitting on it. I read the reviews and decided to go for it. I am NOT disappointed. The experience was painless and ultimately rewarding. From the beginning exchanging emails with Dana and her assuring me that the velvet I was considering would hold up with my four legged friend sitting on it, to ultimately getting the sofa I was satisfied with the experience. I decided on the Carmine in Midnight Velvet, 80 inches for my smallish living area. Although I've only had the sofa for about 3 weeks Dana was correct the cat hair really doesn't seem to stick to the couch and if it does it comes right up! It's beautiful and comfortable I haven't sat in my recliner since it got here! I've gotten many compliments from neighbors. If I had one complaint it would be that I didn't order the 85 inch sofa. My fault, in retrospect, because this is a low profile sofa the 85 inch would have been even more perfect. Next time! I will use Maiden Home again and I will continue to tell people about them! We purchased the Carmine in indigo performance chevron, and are completely happy with the purchase. Out top priority was to have a quality piece of furniture and we definitely got it. I appreciated the updates throughout the process and found the customer service to be spot-on. Comfort is good - this is a sitting sofa, not a lounging one, but it works well in our living room - I would love it if there were matching chairs. The only thing I would like to have seen is something a bit higher. - possibly an inch higher in the legs and an inch higher in the back. Our home has very high ceilings (and my husband is tall) so the sofa looks a bit short overall - but I will get used to it. We love the quality and are happy with the purchase - would purchase again.

I must have ordered every fabric color swatch before settling on the flannel velvet. Dana was so gracious, and just kept sending them to me over a two year period! As a senior citizen I am not as savvy about ordering furniture unseen or sat on. Our Carmine is gorgeous, comfortable and fits perfectly in our 1910 bungalow. My previous sofa was 25 years old and great quality. I looked at every furniture store in town. Pottery barn, Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrel, Room and Board, Arhaus. But kept coming back to Maiden Home. I am pleased to say there furniture is made the way all furniture used to be made. No cut corners. It’s true quality. I keep my furniture a long time, because I buy quality and what I love. This sofa is made to last. It’s heavy, and the seating is just the right firmness for us. I wish I would have ordered it sooner. I can honestly say it’s worth the price. Maiden Homes service is outstanding. Delivery was perfect. I have only good things to say about this company. Purchased two Carmines--a 65" and an 85"--to replace two 13 year old sofas that had seen better days. The old sofas had loose back cushions my small dogs loved sitting on and were looking so sloppy. The look of the Carmine is very traditional so it fit well with my existing furniture. I do wish a turned leg was an option, but the legs are fine. Went with Malt Performance Basketweave which is a nice neutral (old sofas were gold and I was sick of the warmth). Love the arms. Honestly it is taking time to get use to the firmer back but I'm willing to sacrifice for the neater look:) Order process was great. Swatches arrived quickly. My sofas were ready way before they were promised. There was a slight snafu where one was ready to be delivered while the other was still in production but MH helped sort through that with the delivery company. Outstanding customer service. Overall I highly recommend and think these pieces are an outstanding value.

After an exhaustive search for the perfect sofa both online and testing several at a few big box stores, we decided to take a leap of faith and order from Maiden Home. The sofa just arrived today and we are utterly in love (if one can be in love with a sofa!) Let me start with the ordering experience. I called and had a million questions, all of which were answered in detail by a woman who's name I can't recall. We ordered the Carmine in olive green velvet and it is truly stunning. The person on the phone told me that this sofa was more of a formal feel, meaning it is not squishy, but more of a 'sit on top' experience. I am not a fan of squishy sofas, so that was just fine. She was definitely accurate, this is a firm sofa, but extremely comfortable. The design, lines and quality are all outstanding. The fabric is soft, but seems also very durable. The color is rich and neutral. Every detail of the sofa have been considered and you can tell immediately that the quality is very high. It looks beautiful in our mixed style living room (modern art with traditional furniture) and we could not be happier with the entire experience. I will definitely be ordering from this company again and so glad to know it is female owned! Keep up the good work Maiden Home!

We ordered the Carmine sectional with a chaise lounge, ottoman, and a loveseat size Carmine sofa as well. We debated for nearly a year before purchasing and read every possible review I could find. We ordered many samples, and the pebbled leather was the perfect choice for us as we have two dogs, and they are allowed on the furniture. I thought the ordering process was very easy and I enjoyed the updates throughout the process. The delivery was earlier than anticipated and we had our new furniture right before Thanksgiving so that was a wonderful surprise. Delivery was great and the furniture was packaged very well. We absolutely LOVE our new furniture, it is gorgeous, comfortable and has a very timeless style. I highly recommend Maiden Home and will purchase from them again in the future.

I agree with another reviewer , the Carmine sofa is cushy-and supportive. I am 5’6” and my hips and back are starting to give me trouble. I needed the height of the cushions to be a bit higher than my current sofa and needed the firmness so I didn’t sink in too much when I sit down. I knew immediately when I sat on it the first time, that I had both. Yet it feels cushy like a high end sofa, not like you’re sitting on a square piece of foam. I was pretty sure the sofa would be well made, I was glad it was more environmentally friendly, and it was awesome that there was a great return policy. It was a little scary buying it without sitting on it first, but the price was actually so reasonable I took a chance. I’m glad I did.

I purchased the Carmine in marble tweed and was absolutely pleased with the process and even more so with the final product! The information online and the free swatches of fabric made it super easy to understand what the final product would look like. The couch looks exactly like I thought it would. It's gorgeous and stylish yet super comfy! The design is very clean so I'll be able to dress it up with different pillows depending on the seasons. I was impressed with the choice of fabrics / finishes available. None of the stores that offer couches in a similar price range have such a high quality selection of finishes or are able to deliver custom furniture in 4-5 weeks like MH. Plus the furniture is all made right here in the USA! I'll definitely be ordering again.

We are in love with our deep blue velvet Carmine sectional. It is better than I ever imagined from the pictures. It feels so much more substantial and well made than items at the major brick and mortars. My husband is a design snob and he thinks it’s just perfect! It plays fine in our eclectic living room with a Barcelona Chair and mid century credenza.

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Carmine sofa. As part of the aging process, I wanted a sofa that had a higher seat and was more supportive. I got that and comfort too. The velvet fabric is lovely, and the craftsmanship is undeniable. I so much appreciated the above average customer service. It was there from start to well after delivery. I purchased two Carmine sofas for my own home to replace a worn out sectional. I loved that I could customize the size with so many options to fit my room perfectly. I picked Putty performance linen because I have 3 kids, two cats, and a dog. The fabric is holding up beautifully and has been easy to clean. I was concerned they wouldn't be comfortable but took the chance because I love the fact that they are made in the USA and I trust the workmanship and quality of the materials. The ordering process and ease of delivery and setup was so easy. I am so confident in the purchase that I am now recommending to my own clients.

Everything about this process went well. I asked for design help and was given several options and had the opportunity for plenty of discussion. The ordering process went smoothly. I particularly enjoyed the email updates with pictures of the staff who manage the furniture construction, and supporting US business is something I try to do if possible. The people who handled the delivery were extremely conscientious, contacting me several times to confirm the date and time. The delivery people were polite and efficient. My furniture was everything I had hoped for in style, color and quality. A big surprise came when I went to vacuum it today for the first time and tried to flip the cushions as I always do. I couldn't get them out. They are actually buckled in! No wonder the cushions are so secure and never shift when we sit or lay down on the couch. They always look beautiful! I had somehow missed that detail when considering my purchase. I am so impressed with the quality of the workmanship. At first I was put off by the lack of sale pricing, since I always try to shop sales. However, I feel like I definitely got my money's worth. I will highly recommend this company to anyone. I think they have hit the sweet spot for the consumer....the best price for the best value.

I want to start this by saying if you are a mom of a toddler and/or pets, then this review is for you! We had the cloud sofa from RH for years that I just hated. The dogs destroyed it, it was always filthy, guests never wanted to sit in it because of the sinking. The cushion were always out of place and the cushion straps broke. Couldn’t sit in it pregnant because I literally could not get out of it. So I when I finally wore my husband down on a replacement, I scoured the internet for a sofa our dogs could not destroy. Additionally, our baby is approaching toddler-hood, so I was repeatedly pointed to getting a cheap sofa (Ikea or secondhand) or just not bothering at all. I rejected this narrative. One, my husband is a carpenter so I believe in the skill of the craft. Secondly, my mother in law has a 30 year old sofa that (ugly as it is) it’s still as comfy and sturdy as the day she bought it. I don’t have reupholstery skills, but I did think the reason sofas didn’t last was less kids and dogs and more a decline in craftsmanship. So I scoured. And then found maiden home. Everything about the company and mission I loved. I read every review (literally every single one). Having come from the cloud, I knew we needed a firmer sofa. I knew I didn’t want to be fluffing cushions all the time. The Carmine was unlike anything I’d scene and seemed like the perfect solution. I was worried about the firmness, so I messaged the design team who agreed it was a firmer sofa, but still very comfortable. So I ordered all the swatches and tried to destroy them. I’m talking red wine, coffee, black sharpie, I even wiped my daughter snot and drool on the swatch. Then I swiped the dog paws over and over and over. Through my testing, I was so happy to find the performance velvet did the best of all the swatches I tried. I used dawn dish soap and a paper towel to scrub out the sharpie stain and, not only did it come out, the velvet returned to it smooth state. Now the sofa is here (2months now) and I have to say it has met every expectation. The performance velvet cleans up great. Dog fur is easy to vaccum off. Additional, I find that dirt/fur/etc sort of sit on top that fabric and are not absorbed in it. I never in a million years thought a velvet sofa would be suitable for family life, but this fabric is a secret weapon every parent needs. I’ve spilled coffee twice on it now and you would never know. Additional, the sofa itself is irrefutably solid. Having a solid back instead of cushions is perfect for us and our bouncing toddler and obnoxious dogs. The cushion straps are study and the not the flimsy crap that kept breaking/stretching with the cloud. Despite being firm, it is still incredible comfortable. It is a not a sink-in sofa, but it is still sufficiently nappable. I lounge on it, chart on it, and play with the toddler. It is a dream. (Full disclosure: my husband doesn’t like it, but his idea of a comfy sofa is literally a giant bed (or cloud *ahem* see above) but we knew this would be the case when ordering, but he agreed to it). But literally everyone who comes to visit pours it with compliments (including my Mawmaw who is a yard sale furniture shopper was asking where I got it) The only snag we reached was with the delivery. We had a lot of issues with the delivery company not showing up when they said they would. I don’t hold this against maiden home, maybe because my husband is a carpenter and has had the hardest time finding reliable shipping for his own stuff. I was able to contact them with each hiccup and they were very helpful and the last missed delivery date I actually received a call from their supervisor who was lovely and apologetic and refunded the shipping cost. All in all, this sofa is a beautiful powerhouse, reasonably priced when considering the quality and a company I’m happy to have purchased from. If you have kids or asshole dogs and are scared to take the plunge, it’s not a pipe dream. I kid proof sofa exists.

I purchased the 85” Carmine in Ecru with walnut finish. It is the perfect neutral color without being too white or too ivory. The performance fabric has already passed the sloppy human and dog tests. I was able to wipe away spills and dirt without a trace. The tight back design is both beautiful and comfortable. The customer service was excellent in the way they handled issues with delivery to a New Orleans home during the initial panic of Covid-19. I would have loved to have purchased the 90” if it would have fit. So happy with my purchase and I will definitely order from Maiden Home again.

I had never ordered a couch online before - but it was so easy to review the swatches and take measurements according to the guide. Customer service was very helpful and I liked receiving the updates as the couch was being made. The finished product is absolutely gorgeous! Great quality, comfortable, and beautiful design/fabric. I did the Carmine in performance herringbone. And the Crypton treated fabric is like magic....!

So happy to have my Carmine sofa; it is the perfect size for me. I wanted a sofa that my feet could reach the floor while sitting and still be comfortable enough to take a nap on. The Carmine has such lovely lines, nicely pleated arms and it even looks great from behind. The performance chevron fabric has a slight luster and is very soft to the touch. I would not hesitate to recommend Maiden Home to anyone looking for a custom sofa.

After a lot of very picky sofa shopping at various vendors, we ordered the 75" Carmine sofa in "Performance Textured Linen - Flax", and received it in February 2023. It's just beautiful, the construction quality is excellent, and Maiden Home's customer service was great. Highly recommend.

True to the photos, and it’s a beautiful couch, but just OK overall. Our Lounge 2 couch from Crate and Barrel was more affordable and much more durable. We’ve had our Carmine couch for one year and can already see wear in the fabric, and we know it just wont last very long. We don’t have kids or dogs on our furniture, so there’s no reason it should show signs of wear so early.

I was so excited to receive our Carmine couch after reading all the positive reviews and seeing it in person. It looked beautiful and the cushions felt very supportive. We had no issues the first few days until we noticed the cushions wore out and sunk in within one week of receiving it. I (118 lbs) sat on it for maybe 20 minutes a day that week with a 15 lb baby next to me, and I made sure to avoid sitting in the exact same spot. Regardless of my efforts, a couch should not sink in like this after one week of light use! I'm so disappointed that I blindly trusted the reviews because now I know that I could have purchased a couch for less money and it would have lasted me longer.

I ordered 2 Carmine sofas, each 75x37x34, and received two sofas, each 74x33x33. I know these are made to order, and could vary slightly in dimensions, but 6 inches for each sofa seems a little excessive. I hope Maiden Home will make this right and I get the size sofas I purchased. Sofas look beautiful, but after carefully measuring to make sure I ordered the right size, based on what is advertised, it’s frustrating to receive something that is less than what I thought I was buying.

I purchased my Maiden Home velvet sofa over a year ago and wanted to post a review for those who are considering the Carmine. The sofa still looks and feels brand new, but I wouldn't recommend this particular sofa due to the lack of attention to detail. The piping that runs down the center of my sofa is crooked and off-center and doesn't meet in the middle of the two cushions, as pictured online. Soon after receiving the sofa, I contacted Maiden Home's customer service with this complaint, and I was told to use my hands to try to shift the fabric to the right. This seemed to do the trick at first, but the fabric always shifted back to the original position after a short time. I spent many hours trying to shift the fabric into the correct position, but I finally gave up. It bothers me enough that I keep the back of the sofa covered at all times. I searched for years for the perfect velvet sofa for my living room and was left disappointed. I would not recommend the Carmine for this reason.

We spent a fortune on a Carmine with Mohair upholstery only to find that it is badly sagging after less than a year. We are not heavy people (140# and 180# and only the 140# person sits on it most of the time). The Carmine is supposed to have 8-way hand-tied coiled springs, famous for their stability, but this sofa sags worse than the cheapest sinuous spring sofa. The center is so bad, you can't sit there and if you sit on the left side of the sofa, you slide to the middle. It is the pits. I would never recommend this sofa.
