Let’s face it, ordering custom furniture from a website is not for the faint of heart. But Maiden Home did an amazing job making the process seamless. Even better - my Dune couch surpassed my expectations. The quality is incredible. A+!

5/5 | I have already recommended Maiden Home to friends.
I am extremely happy with the way the furniture looks. The sofa and chairs are beautiful, the quality is easy to see and feel. I felt that the price point for quality was appropriate. I have already recommended Maiden Home to friends.

5/5 | Divine Beauty and Comfort
I have worked for a number of high-end furniture retailers over the last 33 years and when I started in the industry the majority of the pieces came handmade from High Point. Since then most pieces available through retailers are mass produced or come from China and the quality has been greatly sacrificed. I’m also a merchandiser and because of that occupational hazard I find myself flipping furniture in my own home rather frequently.... well that and because I have 3 pups. My point is I’ve been through well over a dozen sofas in my lifetime and the Dune is a supremely welcomed addition to my home that I know will be staying put.
Finding Maiden Home was like returning to my roots. I am so beyond thrilled at how well crafted the sofa is and the fact that I will likely pass it on to my kid as a result.
And the slip covers are the greatest thing ever! Like I said I’ve owned a number of sofas both slipcovered and upholstered, and I’ve been through probably just as many generically fitted slipcovers in an effort to keep things clean and interesting. Not a single slipcover in my lifetime has been as easy to remove and replace as the one for the Dune! It’s a dream and it launders beautifully!!
Maiden Home, thank you for crossing my path and for making beautiful heirloom quality furniture of which I will surely be investing in additional pieces!

5/5 | The perfect sofa
I am so happy with the Dune sofa! Not only is it beautiful, but it is so comfortable. I was nervous about ordering a sofa without being able to sit/try it out, but the Dune sofa did not disappoint!

5/5 | Beautiful and Cozy
We LOVE our Dune couch. The delivery was perfect and courteous. They wore booties and a mask, took all packing materials with them and were pleasant. The couch is so comfortable, the pillows are stuffed to perfection and the fabric seems durable. One of my favorite parts of buying from Maiden Home is that is all made in the USA. During each part of the building process we were given an update and who was making our couch. You got to see a real face tying springs, building, and sewing - really loved that aspect. The wait was worth it!! You will not be disappointed. I bought this couch just based on reviews. I did not order samples - we just went with it and so glad we did !

5/5 | So In Love
We have had our dune sectional about a month and couldn’t be more pleased with it. I have had my eye on Maiden Home for over 4 years. It was a bit nerve wracking order a sofa I had never sat on or seen in person, but it was 100% worth the risk. Our sofa is gorgeous and exactly what I wanted but at a fraction of the price of other retailers. It is deep and comfy but not so insanely deep you feel swallowed by it. The process was easy and the customer service was phenomenal. I got the creme color and have two young kids so was a bit nervous, but stains come right out. We love love love our new Dune sectional and will definitely order from Maiden Home again.

5/5 | LOVE
We have had our soda about six months and waited to write this review to give us some time to see how the sofa wears. Overall, I’m thrilled. The sofa still looks like new despite our kids’ constant spills and leaps onto it. My son spilled an a tire glass of orange juice on it and it literally WIPED OFF. I couldn’t be more pleased with the fabric. Our only minor complaint is that we wish it were a bit deeper. I’m 5’8” and my husband is 6’7” and it’s a bit shallow for us. This might be because we bought the two back cushion version. I would guess with the scatter pillows you can sit back into it a bit more. Overall though, we are still pleased with it and I love the clean look of the two back cushions. This is our second Maiden Home sofa and I continue to be impressed with the quality of these products. Highly recommend.

5/5 | Awesome!
The Dune sofa arrived in time as expected and in excellent condition. The styling and quality of this sofa is impressive and a compliment to other furnishings in the room. The single seat cushion on a 75” sofa in an apartment living room has a feel of spaciousness as well as comfort. Have not had enough use of the sofa for any feedback about wear. However, our friends are somehow reticent about sitting on the sofa because it is too beautiful to mess up. We are extremely pleased with our online Maiden Home sofa purchase and will consider others in the future. Working with the staff was a nice experience. Thank you.

5/5 | Incredible
We have gone through many sofas. We needed something durable (2 kids.. ha) as well as wanting something in a beautiful design. The dune is both. It looks better and better as time goes on. Very comfy while keeping its form. Thx MH for designing an amazing piece.

5/5 | Dune sofa - gorgeous and incredibly comfortable
We went around all the typical furniture stores and couldn't find anything that both looked good and made you want to spend time sitting on it. I had been eyeing MH for a while, and finally made the call because of their unique dimension options. I was so nervous ordering a sofa I've never seen or sat on, but honestly could NOT be happier with our Dune sofa. It's simply gorgeous, and has been a major upgrade for our home. The fabric is even more stunning in person, very durable but also soft, and the sofa is incredibly comfortable - just the right balance of cushiness and support. We spend a ton of time on it, reading, watching TV, hanging out, it's so lovely. The customer service team was attentive and super helpful, I really appreciated their support. I would happily order from Maiden Home again, and highly recommend their sofas.

4/5 | So far so good!
The couch is exactly as expected. The customer service team was super helpful in providing additional photos of the fabric on real furniture in real rooms and the grey looks great! I struggled with fabric choices and was worried about the fabric pilling or being difficult to clean. So far, it has shown some wear and tear from our dog, BUT it the color hides her black and white coarse dog hair really well. I've been covering the couch to keep the threads from pulling.

Hi Hannah, thank you for your review! We are so happy to hear your new Dune has been settling into your home, and it sounds like you made the perfect choice. I think you’ll be impressed with the durability and easy maintenance of Performance Washed Linen (the machine washability is wonderful!) and rest assured you will not experience pilling over time. This fabric, like all others in our assortment, was selected for its high pill rating and general durability marks. Looking forward to you putting Performance Washed Linen’s stain resistance to the test, and I hope you continue to enjoy your piece for years to come!
4/5 | wonderful lounging sofas!
I purchased 2 Dune sofas in Performance Chenille Buff. One 90" with classic back and one 60" with scatter back. i spent a lot of time picking the fabric and i think i ordered every swatch they offer. i did a design consultation with Emily who, after listening to how I plan to use my couches (lots of lounging, sitting with my back against the arm and legs stretched out, many hours a day) steered me to the performance chenille. Emily was very pleasant to work with, she took my drawings and measurements and came up with a few possible sofa choices and layouts for me and walked me thru the pros and cons of each.
i've had the couches for over 3 months now and overall i'm very pleased. They look nice and match the feel of my place which is inviting, comfortable, laid-back beach. The fabric seems to resist wrinkling, it looks great with just a hand smooth down. The pillows get thrown around alot: I often flop down one of the long (classic back) pillows to prop my legs on. I take one of the scatter-backs and put it behind my back, against the arm, to prop myself up for reading or working on the computer. Despite all this, they have maintained their shape and need only minor, occasional fluffy. The bench seat pillow similarly has not gotten lumpy on any one side. i do make a point of alternating which end of the sofa i lounge on, but so far the bench looks picture perfect with minimal fluffing.
the sofas are very comfortable to lounge on. i wouldn't say marshmallow soft, there is support, but i can lie on my side for hours w/o my hips starting to ache, which was not true for firmer sofas i've had in the past. yet at the same time, there is no sag, so your back doesn't ache either.
my only nit, and the reason i gave a 4 instead of a 5, is that the material that encloses the down (what you see when you unzip the cushions) is 'crunchy'. you hear it when you move about. I realize that this material is needed to prevent feather poke and there's probably no perfect solution, but for me it takes away from the 'dream cloud' feel the couches would otherwise have. it's possible and i'm hoping, this material will break in over time and be less noisy. Even with this, i do get the occasional (2x per week) feather pop out.
You can tell the sofas are well built. The seams are all very clean and straight, the workmanship is evident. No creaks or groans when I sit or get up or move them around. The delivery people said they had never seen furniture so carefully wrapped for delivery. They are heavy and solid. i knew i might be moving them around before deciding on a final placement, so i bought gliders and asked the delivery guys to place them under the legs. i've been able to slide them around that way, but would not be able to move the 90" by myself otherwise.
The arm is comfortable - i was very worried it would be too thin or too low, and i wouldn't be able to prop myself against it to read. But it's solid and substantial, it feels very comfy with one of the scatter back cushions against it.
as others have said, this wouldn't be my first choice for a sofa if i planned to sit upright facing forward most of the time. Not that it's uncomfortable when used that way, but it's a bit deep and I need additional throws in the small of my back to be comfortable. A taller person (i'm 5'4) might not. However, in my book, it really shines as a lounging sofa.

4/5 | Beautiful and comfortable.
Customer service is amazing with the company and delivery went very smooth as well. So far the couch is beautiful and fits perfectly in my home. My only wish was that I had one more pillow to get the same scatterback look at the picture. I got the 100 dune so it is quite large, one more pillow would have been perfect.

4/5 | Dune Sofas
I ordered 3 Dune sofas. They are well-made and I appreciate that I am supporting a North Carolina business.
I ordered the Dune sofa because I specifically wanted sofas that had slipcovers since I have 3 Goldens.
All 3 are extremely comfortable and I am mostly pleased with my purchase.
The only downsides:
1. Washing these slipcovers in a residential sized washing machine is almost impossible.
2. The zippers on the slipcovers and pillows are regular zippers like what you would use in clothing. The zippers should be heavy duty. There's a lot of tugging and pulling when you put the slipcovers back on. I'm concerned that the zippers will not hold up.

4/5 | The Hayes Chair & The Dune Couch
The Dune couch is tremendous and scores high in my book on every aspect of what a slipcover couch should be all about.
The Hayes Chair is beautiful and well made but not comfortable at all given the fact that the framing of the chair digs into your under leg based on how your weight is dispersed while sitting in the suspended hide seat.

3/5 | One year in ….
I’ve had the dune sectional for a little over a year now. The pros: the fabric is easy to clean, good quality material and the overall quality of the couch is great.
Cons: the back pillows are over stuffed - I had hoped they would soften over time but they haven’t and honestly this tends to affect the comfort. The seats are not deep. We ordered the deep version and I’m 5’10 and they just aren’t deep like couches from other retailers.
Giving this 3 stars because I do like the quality but don’t love the overall comfort for an everyday family couch

3/5 | Did not work for me
I really liked the look of this sofa- it looked so simple and comfortable. I loved the idea of washable covers too. I ordered it and waited 4 months for it to be delivered. I donated my old couch. Right away I found it to be uncomfortable and it didn't look right in my space (an older house). It really feels more like a big daybed than a couch. Every time you sit down you need to adjust the cushions behind you. I am tall (5'10 1/2") and it felt too deep for me. It just felt like a soft white lump - sort of formless and massive. My review has nothing to do with the workmanship or materials- which I believe are fine. I will say Maiden Home was great about taking it back and refunding most of my purchase money. The lesson I learned is that I won't make such a big purchase without trying it first. Now I miss my old couch...

3/5 | Beautiful but firmer than expected
Just arrived. It's a beautiful sofa but I'm surprised at the firmness.. especially since I was originally concerned it would be too soft. It's actually quite the opposite. I wanted a deeper sofa so i chose this model and the back pillows (I got the classic back) are overstuffed and really really hard. It takes away from the overall depth. I think it could mellow out after sometime but I also may consider returning as it's just too expensive of a piece to wait and see.

3/5 | Love everything except one (pretty big) thing
We ordered three pieces for our new build; a Dune L-shaped sectional in Alabaster with classic back, a Warren sofa in Oatmeal, and a Dune chaise sectional in Harbor with scatter back. I wasn’t expecting to like the Warren as much as I do - it’s beautiful, extremely comfortable and I love the color. It did come with a spot on it, but customer service was very receptive, explained how I could first try to get it out on my own (which i was easily able to do, and continued to follow up with me so make sure I was able to remove the spot). As for our two Dune’s - they are also beautiful and I love the fabric/colors, especially the Alabaster. The fabric also seems to clean up well. We haven’t been in our house for long, so I haven’t had to wash it, but the dirt spots my kids have gotten on it have come out very easily. I am, however, very disappointed in the Dune chaise with the scatter back pillows - to put it bluntly, I cannot stand the back pillows. I find them to be very stiff/over stuffed and also very uncomfortable when sitting on the couch. The only reason I purchased it with the scatter back was because I had read other reviews saying the scatter back was more comfortable than the classic back, and this couch was for our tv room so I wanted it to be as comfortable as possible. I prefer the look of the classic back 100x more, and now after seeing how uncomfortable I find the scatter back to be, I’m extremely disappointed that I went this route instead of the classic back. We’ve hardly even used our tv room because we find the couch to be uncomfortable and instead use our dune with the classic back pillows on our main living floor to watch tv. Very disappointed in this.

3/5 | Mostly comfortable but a few requests
I ordered my sofa last August and it arrived a few weeks late in November. I understand the supply chain issues, but I found the communication around actual arrival dates lacking.
The fabric is beautiful and cleans up really well — the slip covers are easy to remove for washing or vacuuming, and I’ve even gotten red wine out easily (from the oyster linen fabric).
It’s mostly very comfortable and definitely pretty — I love the single seat cushion, but I can’t stand the scatter back pillows. Mine look nothing like the ones pictured. Maiden Home replaced the original set which were very small but the new ones still don’t even come close to covering the back. They’re not nearly as large or plush looking as the images.
And I think the sofa overall would be much more comfortable if the arms were a few inches lower — I can’t use the scatter back pillows on the arms because they fold awkwardly.
I wish I had gotten the two pillow back and would strongly suggest not doing the scatter back pillows.

3/5 | Looks stylish, but lacking comfort
Positives first: Maiden Home has WONDERFUL customer service and was always extremely prompt to answer any emails or questions I had about my product or the delivery timeline. Secondly, I got the Dune and it looks very stylish in my home!
Negatives: I read up all on what the fill of the pillows and cushions is, however the cushions feel like there's this plastic in them and it definitely isn't as comfortable as other sofas I was looking at. Secondly, make note that the Dune has a tapered edge bench seat. If you sit on the edge, you fall into the corner. One way to remedy this design would be to have a square bench seat instead of tapered edge. I wish I would have noticed this before as it would have prevented me from purchasing this sofa (it's that annoying to fall into the edge). Third, the slipcover is extremely loose and looks ill-fitted on my sofa.
Overall, its very stylish but I would not purchase again.

3/5 | The Dune
I have never liked the loop of slipcovered sofas, although admittedly, with two young kids and two dogs, the idea of being able to wash every piece of fabric on my couch was a huge bonus. I came across the Dune when shopping for my new home, and fell in love with the clean lines, and comfortable appearing design. I originally ordered the Dune sofa in Creme, based on the pictures on the website, and was dismayed to find when it arrived that the color was in fact much more brown than advertised. It was very muddy looking, and not at all the "creamy white" appearance seen in their online photos. I highly recommend ordering all the swatches before placing your order. I had actually ordered the Creme swatch, but for some reason, it had gotten lost in the mail, and not wanting to delay my order, I decided to take the plunge and get it based off of the website pictures. That being said, I raised my issue with customer service, and their CS is above and beyond. You always reach a real human (thanks, Connor), who is willing to help resolve your issue, and there is no hoop jumping to get there. Maiden Home sent me an exchange for the slipcover in Oyster, and I am much happier with the color. I have some ongoing issues with the new slipcover, but my concerns are all being addressed promptly and attentively! The other thing I will say is that I did not realize before I ordered that this particular sofa is filled with down feathers. The feathers often poke out of the cushions, making the sofa scratchy to sit on. I wish I had known it was down, because I would have requested down alternative. That being said, it is still a beautiful sofa, I just wish the colors were true to life as advertised online, and they need to figure out a way to prevent their down material from being scratchy. Perhaps using finer feathers like that which is used in comforters and pillows would solve the problem.

3/5 | Beautiful but Disappointed!
We received our Dune sofa and were thrilled with it at first! It is so beautiful, is very sturdy, and is comfortable for lounging. We ordered it in the oyster performance lined fabric. We have four young kids, so this may seem like a bold move to some. Prior to our MH Dune purchase, we had a Pottery Barn slip covered sectional, also in a white performance fabric, so we knew what we were getting into. There was never a single spill, mark, or stain that we couldn’t get out of our PB sectional. We had everything from pen marks and food smears, to bloody noses and greasy hands on that couch and every time we washed it, it looked as good as new. Pretty much everything you can think of made its way onto that couch with four sets of tiny hands in our home. With that experience, we felt very confident in ordering another white performance fabric couch. Unfortunately, we have not had the same experience this time around with our Maiden Home sofa. Within a month and a half of being delivered, our slip covers needed to be washed. For the most part, it washed well but there is a stain we cannot get out of one of the arms of this slip cover. We followed Maiden Home’s washing instructions and everything Sunbrella recommended. Now, this is disappointing, but something I can live with. I am the one who chose a white couch with four kids in the house. What I can’t live with is the fact that our slip cover shrunk up about 2-3 inches vertically, on all sides when we washed it, even though we precisely followed all washing instructions. You can now see the bottom 2-3” of our sofa peeking out of the bottom of our slip cover. It looks ridiculous. For a couch that is 6 weeks old, that was washed properly, this should not be an issue. I reached out to Maiden Home about this. They have been very polite, but will not replace the slip cover, which is very disappointing, especially given how new our sofa is and that this happened with our first wash. One of the selling points of this couch is its washability, and that was not delivered. As much as I love the look of this sofa, I cannot recommend it, based off of this alone. Shrinkage should not be an issue on a custom piece of furniture, when washed exactly as instructed. Buyer beware! If you have children or pets in your home, or feel you would need to wash your slip cover for any other reason, I recommend going with another brand.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on The Dune. As The Dune's cushions' cotton ticking is constructed to allow for airflow throughout the cushion to ensure a very relaxed and comfortable sit, we would expect to see a minimal amount of feather migration, a process by which the fine feather fill escapes its cotton casing. That said, we do offer Down Alternative cushion inserts for those who prefer a fill construction without feather fill as well - we are glad to see that you have been in contact with our Customer Care team so that we may review and address your concerns thoroughly. Please do not hesitate to reach out to [email protected] with any questions at all in the meantime - we are always happy to hear from you.
2/5 | Dune is a Dud
We are a year into our Dune sofa with scatter back pillows. I would caution against purchasing this product. Our sofa still looks lovely. It's lines and the performance linen have held up well. The issue is deeper than cosmetic. Our scatter back pillows have never softened. They are insanely stiff and uncomfortable. Our bench seat, on the other hand, is insanely unsupportive. My husband and I have started experiencing back pain after sitting on the sofa for as little as ten minutes. We aren't big people (our Ethan Allen sofas which are far older, are still as comfortable and supportive as the day we purchased them). As another reviewer wrote, the feather loss/escape is astounding--and almost embarrassing. Before company arrives, I check the sofa for strays--there are often many. I simply cannot recommend this sofa if you are looking for a piece that will be enduring and comfortable.

Hi there - thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your Dune sofa. We are truly sorry to hear of your cushion concerns. The back cushions of The Dune are filled with down, feather, and fiber, and The Dune bench cushion features a high-resiliency core wrapped in down, feather, and fiber for a cloud-like feel. While we would expect to see some feathers escape their breathable cotton casings in a natural process called feather migration, this process will not typically impact the comfort or shape of the cushions over time. Given this, our Customer Care Manager has reached out to you directly for more information regarding your cushions. If our Customer Care team may answer any questions or provide any additional information, please do not hesitate to be in touch with our team at [email protected] - we are always happy to hear from you.
2/5 | Not Comfortable but Quality Material at least - Dune Slipcover
I got The Dune - Slipcover Performance Textured Linen Bone Sofa Classic Back. My major complaint is the back cushions; they are too full, which makes them very hard and uncomfortable if you're looking for a sofa to sink in and get cozy for movie night, this isn't the one. Even with this sofa having the most depth from Maiden Home, it doesn't do the trick. I did months and months of research and was trying to decide btw a six-penny sofa and one from Lulu and Georgia I made the wrong choice.
Also, the third-party company that does the delivery does not wear white gloves, so be prepared for your sofa to get its first stains during the unboxing process.

2/5 | So disappointed...
Not sure if it's because I ordered an "in stock" ready to ship Dune sofa, but it arrived with multiple very noticeable pulls in the linen fabric. I just flipped the cushions for the first time and noticed even more pulls on the other side! I'm so disappointed that a brand new sofa would arrive with the slipcovers in this condition. It's also really annoying that the seat cushion slides out a couple inches every time you sit on it. The back cushions make a horrible "crunchy" noise - from my research it seems that this is caused by when down proof ticking is made with a stiffer, lesser quality coated material that holds the feathers in.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns with your Dune to our attention. Each piece, whether in-stock or custom, is made from scratch in our artisan workrooms where we ensure quality is of the highest priority. We certainly want to address your concerns with your Dune’s fabric, bench cushion movement, and back cushions. While our fabric options are quite durable, liquid resistant, and easy to spot-clean, they can be damaged, and if damage does occur, our team is always happy to make a recommendation for next steps, or explore the cost of replacement components with our artisan partners. We do ask that all damage that may have occurred during the shipping or delivery process be reported on the proof of delivery form and to our Customer Care team at [email protected] within 24 hours, as we are always happy to cover the resolution of damage reported within 24 hours and on the Proof of Delivery form.
The Dune’s bench cushion was designed in weight and shape to stay in place, and movement should be minimal. To further secure your seat cushion, please ensure your back cushions are situated on top of your bench cushion and not behind, which could push it forward. The sound you mentioned is indeed due to the down-proof ticking we craft into each down piece, resulting from the starching process. The cotton ticking encasing your Dune’s fine feather fill is quite fresh, and will relax with time.
If our team may answer any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out - we’re always happy to hear from you!

The sound you mentioned is indeed due to the cotton ticking we craft into each down piece, resulting from the starching process. The cotton ticking encasing your Dune’s fine feather fill is quite fresh, and will relax with time.
If our team may answer any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out - we’re always happy to hear from you!
2/5 | I Wish I Had a Time Machine
I've never purchased a sofa without actually sitting on it, but I took a chance on the Dune because of the many positive reviews. We got the small sectional, and while it's gorgeous, I wish we hadn't gotten it. The back cushions have held up well, but the seat cushions are awful. I have to fluff them every single time I sit on them, and even then, they're still uncomfortable. Additionally, feathers come out of it so often, I find myself vacuuming up a ton, or feeling little pricks when I'm sitting down. I told myself that I'd give the sectional a year because we invested so much money, but I seriously wish I hadn't. Now I feel like we're stuck with an expensive sectional that's not comfortable.
On a more positive note, I can't say enough how great their custom service team is! I was constantly updated through the purchasing and shipping processes and everyone was so kind!

2/5 | Cushions Are Not comfortable
I have never spent so much on a sofa, and while I love the look of the Dune, and the feel of the couch itself… the back pillows are insanely uncomfortable. (I did standard, not the scatter). they are overstuffed and stiff. They feel like a rock. I just end up putting them on the floor and using other pillows, which is disappointing after how much of an investment this was.

2/5 | Dune/ Graphite Performance Linen
I would like to say that Graphite in Performance Linen is more a warm, muddy BROWN. There is nothing 'graphite' about it.
It was so troublesome that I bought a new overpriced slipcover for the Dune. :(

2/5 | Looks great, as long as you Don’t sit on it
I had high hopes for this sectional. I did my research, I had a decent budget, and I was willing to wait for a quality sofa that was going to last for the next several years… We received our Dune sectional less than 3 months ago and it already looks like horrible. The seat cushions are flattened and misshaped to the point that it looks messy and sloppy. I contacted customer service, sent photos. Waited 1 week for a response, sent another email, more photos and I was told to fluff up the cushions!😳Really? An $8,000 sofa needs me to fluff up for 20 minutes every time we sit on it, just to look halfway decent??🙄
Not acceptable on many levels.
I’m writing this review (even though it probably won’t get posted) with the hopes of giving someone the honest truth before they buy this overpriced sofa. I wish I had known this before I purchased it that it was only going to look nice as long as you don’t sit on it…

2/5 | Good construction. Floppy pillows
I've had this couch for over 2 years. Every morning I have to fluff the pillows to create a presentable look. When you sit down for a few minutes the pillows collapse and you are met with the hard back of the couch frame. I got the classic back configuration. The overall fabric and construction of the couch is good. I am thinking of adding some foam to the cushions so they might hold some sort of shape.
I just am irritated after thinking about how much time I spend 'making the couch' once or twice a day. Also the bottom cushion always slides forward and I push it back everyday as well. So maybe some sort of anchor or ties are needed to improve this couch. I bought it because it is a fully washable slipcovered couch which is very important to me.

2/5 | Thrilled at first sight, until….
When I first received my Dune sofa I was thrilled With the comfort level of the sofa and the design, however the pillows on the Dune sofa a smaller than the look on the website. I also ordered the chair and a half which came with larger pillows that I feel should have come on the sofa as well. With the smaller pillows the sofa looks sloppy. Moreover, my thrilled feelings continued to fade once little pills start to form on the performance linen which is quite annoying. at this price point I would not have expected the material to gather pills and to look wrinkled after sitting on it. Overall, I can’t say I would recommend this product based on the size of the pillows on the Dune, the pills the fabric gathers or the sloppy look it has after simply sitting on it.

Hi Monique, thank you for taking the time to share your experience of your Dunes, and for bringing your feedback to our attention! Our team has been in touch regarding the size of your scatterback cushions to confirm that their dimensions are correct, and to offer our Classic back cushion option if that might be a better option for your preferences! As for the texture you're noting on your slipcover, we're very sorry to be hearing of this. Typically, our Linen slipcovers do feature some texture due to their composition of natural fibers, but we are always happy to take a look at any photos you may be able to send along as well. Please send those photos to [email protected], and our team would be happy to take a look.
2/5 | Buyers remorse
We received our 90" Dune sofa in November so have had quite a few months use before finally writing this! Despite a few Covid delays (understandable) purchase/delivery went smoothly. Communication with the team at Maiden Home was great. Unfortunately, we have been unhappy with our couch! First, the fabric- we went with the chenille (actually had reluctantly settled on this over the linen because there was an additional supply delay for linen and we didn't want to wait even longer). The problem is that this fabric is requiring so much maintenance. EVERYTHING sticks to the material and we constantly have to use a lint roller. But the biggest annoyance is that the fabric pills. So we have to frequently (I'd say weekly) use a sweater shaver on the main cushion just to get rid of all the pilling that is very obvious on the white alabaster color. I've never had a sofa that requires so much "maintenance" to actually use it! We really regret not getting the linen. Second, we chose the scatter back pillows. What drew us to the design of the dune was that is has a deep "lofty" feel/look when you sit in it. The main cushion you sit on does provide this quality! And, it holds up great! The problem is that the back pillows don't match the same feel. They are over stuffed/hard. They are actually uncomfortable. They are somehow too small in size and also over stuffed at the same time. The couch is actually more comfortable with them removed completely! I wish the back cushions had the same lofty feeling as the main cushion. Perhaps the alternate option back pillows would have been better for this? 3rd, I was told the 90" dune would come with 7 scatter back pillows. To my surprise when it came it only had 6. No matter how I styled the pillows there was a large void where it clearly needed one more pillow. To Maiden Home's credit, when I called to inquire about this they informed me that I was given wrong information. But, they sent me an additional pillow free of charge anyway (amazing of them). Overall, I'd give 5 stars to Maiden Home as a company, 5 stars for their quality. But sadly, only 2 stars for the actual functionality of the couch. The dune is sooooo close to being what we wanted, but the fabric and the back pillows kind of ruined it over all for us. It's just a case of design not meeting the function. To anyone wanting the dune because of it's "lofty" aesthetic, go with the traditional back pillows! And, linen not chenille!

2/5 | NOT Pet Friendly or "Claw Repellent"!
I bought the Dune sofa in the "Performance Chenille" fabric. I chose this fabric because I'm a cat owner, and this fabric is described as "pet friendly" and "claw repellent" on the Maiden Home website. A rep from MH also assured me that this material would stand up to my cat scratching at it. WRONG!!! The couch was destroyed in less than 2 weeks, with so many pulled loops of threads that I couldn't even count. Far from being claw repellent, this material is actually very attractive for a cat to scratch, allowing their claws to dig in deep and to provide the "push-pull" motion that cats love. One of my cats had previously never scratched any of my furniture, but he LOVED scratching at this material (as did my other cat). New loops were pulled out of the material with every scratch, and the sofa looked worse and worse with each passing day.
Thankfully Maiden Home agreed to accept my return, but they still wanted me to pay the $400 return fee. After seeing several photos of the damage, they told me, "We agree that the piece does not look great," but that it still was "performing to our expectation." After a week and a half of repeated requests not to have to pay a return fee for an item that didn't live up to their claims, I was finally put in contact with a team member who agreed to waive the return fee---but based on a dirt mark that the sofa arrived with rather than because of the issues with the Performance Chenille, which they continued to stand by.
In regards to my experience with the sofa in general, it was in my possession for approximately a month and a half while I waited for the delivery team to pick it up, and the longer I had it, the happier I was that it was being returned. The back seam of the slipcover shifts around, creating what looks like a bent line across the backside; the back pillows lost their shape quickly and were very uncomfortable to lean against, as the thick pillow seam also shifted and ended up lying directly across where my back rests; and whenever you sit down or shift position, the sofa makes a rustling sound.
I'm so incredibly disappointed with my experience with Maiden Home. I wish that we could post photos as part of our reviews, as the photos I have would speak more than a thousand words.

Hi there,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We wanted to firstly apologize for the inconvenience the process of returning your piece has caused, it certainly does not align to our mission of delivering a more seamless way to buy quality pieces for your home.
Thank you for sharing the feedback about Performance Chenille and its attractiveness to cats. While we typically rely on a fabric's high durability ratings and level of texture as a signal of pet-friendliness, and were initially extremely confident about Performance Chenille as a cat-friendly material, we are open to the possibility that there may be something unique to this fabric that attracts cats. It was your feedback that encouraged us to consider this and in an effort to more conservatively set expectations around this fabric, have removed the 'Pet Friendly' icon from Performance Chenille on our website.
We also want to acknowledge the other feedback you provided on the product in your review, specifically the rustling sound you experienced in your seat cushions. Though this feedback on the Dune is new to us we are investigating it thoroughly.
We are always striving to improve our products and experience, and it's feedback from customers like yourself that allow us to do so. Though we would not describe your experience with us as aligned to our standards, we do hope we have an opportunity to serve you again in the future.
2/5
It's going on 11 weeks and we have yet to receive our Dune couch. We were promised 8-10 weeks shipping delay due to Covid, which my husband and I totally understand. But now after speaking with 3 different service reps, and each telling us a million different things saying it's been shipped, not shipped, and shipped again. And now another rep is telling us we will receive our Dune couch after thanksgiving. That's 13 weeks! 13 weeks of my family sitting on the floor. We were waiting patiently for 10 weeks. What is so different about us and the other people receiving their couches at 8 weeks? So I can't give you a review of the couch but I can tell you they have the worst shipping and customer service I've ever had to deal with. So disappointed, and I don't think we'll ever order from this company again. Especially after the different lies the customer reps has told us about the status of our Dune.

2/5 | Just okay. Wrinkly and shallow.
I was SO excited about this couch and waited so long for it, and I have to be honest: I don't love it.
We bought the Dune sofa in gray "performance linen" with scatter back cushions. Here is the problem: the couch is ALWAYS wrinkled. If you don't want it to look like this you have to painstakingly smooth it out. The other issue is that because the seat cushion does not have any defined sides, the scatter back cushions start to fall behind the seat cushion, and the seat cushion starts to smush down where you sit, so when you sit (especially with the scatter back cushions pushing you forward) it feels like you're going to slip forward off the couch. The slipcover looks good o the sides and back, but on the front it isn't even to the floor and looks perpetually messed up because the fabric doesn't all end at the same level. Now for the fabric: "performance linen" means heathered canvas. Because the fabric swatches are relatively small, you can't really tell the extent of the heathering. Our couch sort of looks like a fabric gray tiger.
Comfort level is okay, but the seat is not very deep so if you're going for something you can hang out on, this is not the right couch. The seat would need to be a couple inches deeper.
I kept it past the return date because I waited SO long for it and was just happy to have a couch, and was trying to convince myself that I liked it. I'm sad to admit it, but I regret buying this couch.

Hi Shannon, thank you so much for your feedback – we're so sorry to hear that you're not loving your Dune. The Dune is our most relaxed style, and given the down, feather and fiber composition of its cushions we do expect to see some ease in the way the fabric lays and cushions settle. You are correct that some maintenance, including fluffing of cushions, is required with this style to keep a tailored look. The slipcover can also move with use, and can be adjusted by removing the seat cushion and pulling the slipcover forward so that it is even with the floor. That said, we understand that this style and maintenance profile does not work for all of our customers, and are so sorry to hear you have been disappointed with the Dune as well as your fabric's appearance. We are happy to work with you on an additional slipcover if you would like to choose another fabric from our line. Thank you again for your order, and please reach out to [email protected] with any additional questions. We will always be here as a resource for you throughout the life of your piece.

1/5 | Never been more disappointed
I purchased this sectional with the classic back pillows about 2 years ago. I had a medical emergency that I spent over a year recovering from so I am just now getting around to writing a review. I spent many, many hours over several weeks researching sofa sectionals. I kept coming back to this one because of all the good reviews. I’ve never paid this much for a sofa but I was willing to because I thought I was getting the best. Unfortunately, I was wrong. First of all, it arrived dirty along almost the entire length of both sides of the bottom back of the sectional, a grease smudge on the side and finger/thumb smudges from the delivery guys. It’s supposed to be “white glove” delivery but It was nothing different from any other delivery I’ve had. I went back and forth with maiden home customer service and they finally agreed to send me new covers which I was grateful for. Also, before making my selection I spoke to someone from customer service to describe what I was looking for in a sofa, something soft that I could sink into while reading a book or watching a movie, and she recommended the Dune. It is not soft at all. The seats and the backs are. pretty firm from being over stuffed with feathers. The backs have to constantly be turned because the back gets flat on the end your back is on and the feathers shift to the other side making it stick out. A cushion is never the same width all across. I’ve never had a couch that did this before and required constant turning. The bottoms I flip over once a month. They get. sunken in otherwise. I got the performance linen but spot cleaning doesn’t work as well as described and I usually end up taking the covers off to wash them. It’s a very difficult to get the covers on and off and there were so many feathers coming out that I could have built my own flock of geese. I wish I had taken pictures. My husband and I couldn’t help but laugh but It was a nightmare to clean up. The bottom of the sofa is so low to the ground that you can’t get underneath it to clean without taking the sectional apart and moving it and then have to worry about trying to get it back together. I knew the backs were lower than what we have always had before and I thought I’d be ok with it but I regret it. I can’t stand not being able to put my head against the back cushion. I don’t know why sofas are being made nowadays with cushions that come up only half way on your back. We had to buy big pillows to sit against so we could be more comfortable. I definitely regret this purchase and am already trying to figure out how I can get rid of it and find something more comfortable with less maintenance. One last thing to mention, the covers as I mentioned are so hard to get on and off that we ended up putting blankets over them to protect from our dogs. We tried to find covers but because of the odd size I couldn’t find covers big enough for the longer side. I would have to have them custom made. Just something to note if you think it’ll just be easy to put covers on it to avoid having to wash the pillow covers.

1/5 | An Unfortunate Disappointment
I am almost a year in and it really saddens me to make this review because this was a couch I dreamed about for years before purchasing but at this price point, I feel it is necessary. The couch is beautiful upon first arrival. However, that is where the positives end for me. The performance fabric is itchy and never really softened for me even after washing the slip covers. The feathers of the pillows and the cushions are constantly everywhere and even poke me through the pillows. A good amount of my pillows have visibly deflated because of how many feathers have come out of them. And on top of that, the scatter pillows are much harder to maintain than I thought they would be. Because of the amount of feathers that are gone, the pillows are no longer consistent in size and are oddly shaped so I put in work daily to make the couch look nice. The sectional pieces are hard to put together and constantly and easily come undone. Right after the delivery team put the couch together, I made a slight movement and the couch came undone and took me forever to put it back together. I thought it was a nonissue at the time but now after dealing with the issue so much it is just a nuisance that should not be happening at this price point. I hate to say it but I do regret this purchase and constantly wish I decided to go a less expensive route considering this was not the experience I expected to have when investing into a piece like this.

1/5 | Beautiful, but looses support after a year
This is initially quite comfortable, but the bottom cushion on my sofa lost support / volume and began sagging significantly after only a year. It is now quite uncomfortable to sit in the middle of the sofa, as the cushion is entirely unsupportive. This occurred despite regulating, adjusting, and turning the cushions as recommended. I was disappointed by the customer service from Maiden Home; after some back-and-forth, I was told that "Based on the photos you have shared of your piece, our teams have determined that your cushions are performing up to our expectations!" It is disappointing that this degree of support loss is their expectations. Of note, I weigh 160lbs and am the only one to use the sofa. While beautiful and initially comfortable, I wish I chose a sofa that would maintain its shape and support for more than a year.

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your Dune. Quality is our top priority with our artisan-made pieces, so any concerns that do arise are thoroughly reviewed with our team. While reviewing your piece, we did confirm that your cushions were constructed correctly and fit to your sofa’s frame. Since The Dune has a down-filled cushion construction, wrinkles or fill inconsistency may occur on the bench cushion with use. We recommend refreshing the loft of your cushion by regulating, or smoothing, the cushion insert and regularly flipping the cushion for even wear. This will allow your Dune cushions to maintain a consistent shape and feel over time. If our team may be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out at [email protected].
1/5 | DUNE SOFA
I want to love this couch but it is very stiff and not that comfortable. It feels like it has very little down and is not that soft. The bottom cushions are beginning to give a little and the back are as well but it is still VERY stiff. If you want a dreamy sleep on sofa this is not for you. Our last couch cushions had a down mix and was MUCH softer and felt better than theis couch. There is such a fine line between a comfortable sofa (nice down mix) and messy (like the cloud) but this is not a good middle option.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback on your Dune, and we are sorry to hear of your concerns. The Dune’s cushions are crafted with a high-resiliency core and wrapped in a jacket of down, feathers, and fiber—as such, they will settle more over time to give that cloud-like, sink-in feel. We do understand, however, that comfort is highly personal. Our team offers a return or exchange option within 30 days of delivery, as well as complimentary design services, to ensure we are able to craft a piece that fits your design and comfort preferences. 1/5 | from bad to worse
Sofa arrived dirty, with broken legs, and a large nail sticking out of one foot. The nail caused my brand new floors to be scratched. Maiden home blamed the damage on the delivery partner but in reality it left their facility that way and anyone placing it on a floor and pushing it into place would have caused the damage because the nail was fully exposed in the foot. They sent new feet and these had the soft round plastic buttons that protect floors--the initial ones had nothing but the nail. After much back and forth the delivery partner paid $1000.00 of the $1200.00 in damage and I had maiden home make up the $200.00 difference. The flooring was back ordered by 2 or 3 months. Finally the day came for the flooring and we had to move all the furniture out of our living room alone and listen to loud noise all day. When the flooring was done I had a major cleaning project to do (dust and etc from the repairs). I was so upset that i went back and forth with Maiden home to pay my wages for the day and cleaning. They were supposed to have someone come clean the sofa and apply the new legs. The day came and I received a call that the worker quit without notice. Over the course of a few months the back cushions lost their shape and dipped like a U in the back. Our mid backs rested against the frame of the sofa. They sent new cushions and the same happened in a few weeks. A month later a creak started and progressed to the point that even a tiny shift on the sofa made a loud creaking noise. No one in the home is over 150 pounds--just 2 of us. I. had to get my e-mails, photos, videos together to prepare for small claims court...fortunately, they realized I meant business and are coming to take this sofa away next week and refund me in full. The product I received looked used and in poor condition. It was not the product I viewed on-line or as described. I had cheap sofas hold up better than this after years. I do not recommend this company or the furniture at all. I will be so happy the day my refund comes and this sofa is out of my home.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with your delivery and with your Dune. We fully agree, and are truly sorry, that your experience with your Dune fell very far outside of the high bar we set for ourselves and for the delivery day experience. When concerns do arise at any time during the ordering, build, shipping, or delivery processes, our top priority is to work with each customer to correct these concerns as soon as possible. Damage to the home during delivery is extremely rare, as is damage to pieces during the shipping process, and we were glad to have been able to work with you and our delivery partners directly to take next steps to resolve the damage to your home during the delivery process and to facilitate your preferred path forward.
1/5 | Such Potential!
I saved up for months to purchase the Dune. I went with the Performance Linen in the color Graphite. First, the experience was wonderful. I had sizing questions prior to ordering and the designer called me back in a timely fashion. When I called to inquire about the differences in material and colors - the sales associates who answered the phone were kind and patient. When the couch arrived, the color is beautiful. Plus, it's locally made, and I believe in buying in America, so that was also special to me! All of that deserves a 10 out of 10!!! But here is my issue - only a few months in and the fabric has already FADED on the backside. I have never removed the slipcover to launder yet, so I assume it's from the indirect light coming in from the bay window. To spend over 5,000 for a couch, only to have it fade within a few months is beyond disappointing. And it's NOT even direct light in my living room. Graphite is a rather dark gray color, but I sure wish someone would have told me there was a chance for this. And when you see the name, "performance linen" - you are thinking it would stand up to most elements. As a television journalist, and social media influencer, I shoot a lot of videos in my home, so I am very saddened to see the fading. And I am even more worried, if it looks faded within just a few months, how will it look 12 months from now? Please advise. And thank you for your time.

1/5 | I feel daily regret over this.
I have had the dune for over a year now and it has held up terribly. The slipcover is an unsightly mess, constantly shifting and stretched out, and while I have the performance linen, spills are impossible to get out, and I follow the cleaning instructions to a T. The seat is so, so uncomfortable. The back pillows are like rocks and the scatter back makes it impossible to get comfortable sitting up or lying down. I am an interior designer and will never recommend this piece to clients. I wouldn’t pay $200 for this sofa and will be stuck with it for years.
