Research phase:
I ordered swatches in performance linen and textured linen to see how the fabrics looked and felt in person. Textured linen was softest. I also did a spot treatment test on the material by marking it with pen (something my toddler would inevitably do, no doubt) and then spot cleaned it and threw the swatch in the laundry to test for ease of stain removal (something I was anticipating doing with the slip cover line). The fabric didn't meet my standards/lifestyle so I opted for pebbled leather with a 65" Sullivan frame since the Dune is not available in leather. I do not regret this decision every time I wipe yogurt finger prints left by my toddler. The prices are comparable to restoration hardware.
Ordering:
The online ordering process was quick and easy, once you scrutinize all the customizable options. The production status updates were appreciated. I receive two Sullivan sofas within the original lead time, I think a week or two ahead of schedule. Arranging white glove delivery was also easy. When my husband noticed a tear in the leather, we took photos and sent it to Maiden Home who was phenomenal at finding a resolution by replacing the entire sofa. They even let us hang on to the damaged one while the replacement was being constructed. From the time of delivery we noticed many loose staples would shed/fall out of unknown places. This only lasted a day or two and were easy to pick up with a vacuum.
Some pickiness:
65" is okay for 2 people but definitely not 3 to sit comfortably. This size was a room constraint so I don't necessarly regret it. The sofa legs do not entirely sit flat on the floor, almost at though they were installed at a slight angle. Luckily, the low setting of the sofa does not bring attention to this. The outside sides/arm rests of the Sullivan are not filled with cushion, best described like an art canvas with the wood frame and leather wrapped around hollowness. This lends to the leather pulling/stretching when the furniture was moved into place. Looks a little like a stretch plastic bag. Okay really pickiness there, the seams of the leather cording are glued, not serged together by stitching so it will be interesting to see how they hold up.
Wrapping it up with Pro's:
The overall feel is very comfortable. Their lead time was great considering how other vendors had astronomically long lead times coming out of the pandemic. Customer service was equally wonderful. Can't wait to see what else Maiden Home launches in the future.

3/5 | Would be perfect if only…
The sectional looks great, delivery was seamless, and it’s pretty comfortable. However, the back cushions on the sectional drive me crazy! They seem under-filled and completely sink down every time you lean back. It’s a struggle to get them to sit at the same height as the back of the sofa. They also shed feathers like crazy, to the point I need to vacuum feathers up every few days. It’s too bad; I like the sectional, but there is no way these back cushions will hold up over time…

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the fill of your Sullivan’s cushions. We reviewed your piece with our craftsmen and determined that the cushions were outside of our quality expectations. We’re happy that our team has been able to get in touch with next steps towards making this right on your behalf. Noting your feather migration, The Sullivan is a down-filled piece and it is not uncommon to see feathers occasionally come through the cushions. For lighter maintenance, each cushion is encased in cotton ticking, which minimizes natural feather migration while ensuring breathability and comfort. We very much look forward to you enjoying your piece for years to come, and please do not hesitate to be in touch with any questions at [email protected]!
3/5
I shopped over a year for the perfect sofa for our renovation. I love the design and clean lines - it’s beautiful yet very comfortable which works great in an open concept living space. My gripe is that the feathers poke through. I get “stuck” and have to pull out at least 3 feathers per day from both the back and seat cushions, which is obnoxious. I sent photos of the interior of the cushion and the feedback was that everything was as expected. I’ve considered having another layer added around the cushion under the exterior fabric with the goal of preventing feathers from coming through. Not sure about my willingness to take on that project.

3/5 | Disappointed by fabric
I like the style and comfort level of this couch, but I am definitely disappointed by the fabric. I’ve had this couch for 5 months and the fabric has already started to pill on the bench cushion. For reference, the only people who use the couch are my husband and I - no pets, no kids, and we haven’t had a lot of visitors due to COVID. We sit on it daily, and have the occasional nap, but do not use it so heavily to warrant the amount of pilling we see and feel. Definitely disappointed since we specifically chose the performance fabric for the specific reason of longevity.... but this will definitely need to be replaced sooner than we would have expected. The pills against the smooth texture of the performance fabric is very noticeable and not a pleasant feeling.
I would also recommend to people to not choose the performance fabric if you’re wanting something cozy/soft. It feels more like fabric for a couch in a doctors office than in a living room.

Hi Emily, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your fabric. Upon reviewing your photo, the texture we’re seeing on your bench cushion is in line with the texture we typically see with our Performance Weave material. Since Performance Weave is a woven fabric with spun yarns, it’s not uncommon to see threads or fuzz on the surface. This is due to the natural softening process of the fabric over time where the ends of some of the individual fibers may rise up to the surface. To clean any excess fibers from the surface of your fabric, we recommend a fabric edger, designed to safely wipe away surface fibers without damaging the integrity of the upholstery. As your fabric continues to relax over time, it will reach a soft, cotton-like feel. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to be in touch with our Customer Care Team at [email protected].
2/5 | Couch is great…pillows not so much.
The couch itself is a 5 star couch. I love the structure and the depth. We got the pebble ink and it’s truly invincible which is comes to the pets in our house. The pillows on the back of the couch… 1 star. They do not hold up, hold their shape or reshape after fluffing.

2/5 | Beautiful, but not family-friendly. Feathers everywhere. Hazard for kids.
I bought a Sullivan sectional after years of searching for a new sofa and being convinced by the great reviews here. I was apprehensive to buy from a digital-only brand, but took the risk anyway. After a year with the sofa, I’m disappointed and looking to replace my $5k mistake,
The Sullivan looks beautiful with its curved arms and seamless stitching, but my biggest pain point is the wooden frame behind & to the sides. It is very exposed with only a thin layer of fabric covering it. I have 2 toddlers and this sofa is in a high traffic room. My kids have each had a serious injury (one almost to the eye) from lightly bumping into the frame. When I contacted customer care, they just mentioned the exposed wooden frame without any concern. We managed to put the sofa against a wall so the back is not exposed, but the placement looks terrible.
Two other cons are that the feathers leak all the time. There are feathers everywhere in our family room. The seat cushions are also very firm. It’s not the plush, comfortable sectional that your whole family can cuddle up and watch a movie on.
If you’re looking for a safe, comfortable family couch, this is not it, and I’d suggest look elsewhere.

Hi there - thank you for sharing your feedback on your Sullivan so that our Customer Care team could review your concerns and piece's construction thoroughly. We are truly sorry to hear of your family's experience, as the safety of our pieces and the quality of each piece's construction is always our top priority throughout the design and review process. Upon detailed review, our team has confirmed the level of padding on The Sullivan you received passed our quality processing — the level of padding is industry standard, and intentional to uphold a streamlined, structured design.
If a piece is ever not a perfect fit for its new space upon delivery, we offer a 30-day return or exchange window to ensure each customer only has pieces in their home they will enjoy for many years to come. In addition, our Customer Care Manager has been in touch directly to address the feather concern. For any pieces crafted with down feather fill, we would expect to see some feathers escape their breathable cotton casings in a natural process called feather migration. If our Customer Care team may provide any additional information or answer any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team at [email protected] - we are always happy to hear from you.
2/5 | Disappointed
Prior to purchasing this sofa, I did my due diligence and read lots of reviews. Most of which were positive, so I decided to purchase two Sullivan sofa’s for our living room. First, the good…construction is solid and the material seems durable. However, if anyone sits on the couch, it is a wrinkled, sloppy mess. Although, these are new sofas, they look old, stretched out and tired. After reaching out to Maiden Home, we were instructed to fluff the cushions like you would a down comforter. (Which is great until someone actually sits on the couch again). So, if you want couches to look at, they are perfect. If you are going to sit on them, shop elsewhere.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your Sullivan sofa. We are glad to see that you have been in touch with our Customer Care team, so that we may take next steps to resolve the concerns you are noting with your piece to ensure you may enjoy your piece for many years to come. The Sullivan's bench cushion features a high-resiliency core wrapped in a jacket of down, feathers and fiber for a luxurious, yet supportive feel, and cushions can typically be maintained over time by unzipping the cushion covers and smoothing out the cushion fill to ensure the cushion fill remains consistent across the each cushion. If our team may provide any additional information or answer any questions in the meantime as we take next steps, please do not hesitate to be in touch with our team at [email protected] -we are always happy to hear from you.
2/5 | Sullivan sectional
It gets a 2 because it looks decent and customer service and delivery were smooth. Beside that, we are giving it away after less than a year. If this is your primary sofa, do not buy it! Not comfortable, very shallow due to cushions, and lots of pokes from feathers. Feels like you are sitting on the frame. Really not sure how it has such great reviews which lead me to purchase. Unfortunately now completely turned off and have purchased a sofa from another well known company and what a difference! Unfortunately 6K gone to waste.

Thank you for taking your time to share your feedback on your Sullivan sectional. We are sorry to hear you're not enjoying the comfort profile of your sectional, and that you're noting some feather migration of your Sullivan's fill. The Sullivan's bench cushion features a high-resiliency Ultracel core with a down, feather, and fiber wrap. Regulating, or adjusting your cushions' fill as your piece is enjoyed, will allow your cushions to maintain a level look and feel over time. All Sullivan seat and back cushions are zippered with removable inserts to allow for easy cushion regulation and care.
As for the feathers you are noting, this is a process called feather migration, which is a natural process during which the very fine feather fill of your Sullivan's cushions migrate outside of its very breathable cotton ticking. While some feathers will continue to escape the cotton ticking, as the cotton ticking surrounding your cushions' fill is constructed to allow for airflow throughout each cushion, as long as there are no holes or tears in your cushion inserts, this process will not negatively impact your Sullivan cushions over time. If our team may review any photos of your cushions or this feather migration on your behalf, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Care team at [email protected] - we are always happy to hear from you.
2/5 | Quality issues
Unfortunately, while the sofa is great at first glance and lead times are good, after having the sofa for two months we are having major quality issues. First of all, on delivery, two feet had exposed nails on the bottom and the delivery team deeply damaged our new wood floors. Maiden home did send new feet, but I am STILL playing phone tag with the delivery company about getting my floors fixed and maiden home is making me deal directly with the as opposed to handling themselves even though it is their delivery company.
Furthermore, the back cushions constantly sag. I fluff them and within an hour they look like they have been smashed down. The seat cushion doesn’t seem to be sewn correctly and is puckering like crazy. And we are constantly picking up feathers that are poking through the cushions. Like at least 50 feathers poke through daily.
I am a trade member (a designer myself) and fortunately I ordered my first sofa for my own home as opposed to a client because if my client’s home was damaged and not fixed after 2+ months, and the sofa was having these issues, I would not be rehired and would have spent hours of unpaid time trying to remedy this issue.
I never write reviews and want to love this sofa and company so much, so hoping these quality issues can be fixed.

2/5 | Some to love, but not longevity. Would not buy again.
We bought the Sullivan almost exactly a year ago. Pros: it looked beautiful on arrival and is very comfortable at certain angles. Cons: it has NOT aged well at all. The sofa cushions have worn and lost their shape, and there is a ton of pilling. It is also continuously shedding and poking feathers. In addition, it constantly comes apart at the sectional connection point so the couch doesn't even stay together. Pillows require a lot of fluffing to maintain, though I suppose that is to be expected. But the back pillows are also pretty uncomfortable because they slouch down so much and cause you to bend your neck at an unfortunate angle. I have had my other sectional (from Room and Board) since 2018 and it is still in perfect shape after several moves and a lot of love. Cannot say the same for the Maiden Home Sullivan. Really, really disappointing. Edit: Not sure why it says we got the Performance Tweed Denim. We actually got it in Performance Chenille Nickel. Pretty color!

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your Sullivan. Our Customer Care Manager has been in touch directly for more information, as we would not expect to see of these concerns with your Sullivan's fabric, cushions, or alligator clips, which arrive pre-installed into each sectional component to keep the sectional pieces connected together. Since the Sullivan is designed with a down-blend cushion construction, we recommend a regime of regulating your cushions to maintain their best look and feel. You can do this by smoothing the bench cushion insert and realigning the cover as part of your regular sofa maintenance. While feathers can occasionally escape from their cushion insert in a natural process called feather migration, we would not expect this process to be bothersome in the home. If we can be of further assistance, please reach out to us at [email protected].
2/5 | Quality control problems
For starters, it is an attractive sectional and I do like the shape and fabric. It's pretty comfortable and I hope it lasts many years. However I'm shocked by the quality control issues in this price range.
There was an exposed metal nail in one of the couch legs. Yes, there was a literal uncapped metal nail hammered under the leg of my $7,000 couch. It gouged up my brand new LVP flooring in my newly built home. This is so obviously beyond unacceptable that I assumed MH would go above and beyond to make it right, but customer service--while very responsive--didn't take any responsibility. They made me personally deal with their 3rd party delivery service which took weeks of phone tag and being outright ignored many steps along the way, until I was finally connected with a delivery manager who would listen. She was very kind and couldn't believe what was going on, and she let me file a claim for $522.
I'm not sure if my issues were ever escalated internally to notify QC of this happening, and honestly it never felt like MH took my issue seriously because they didn't want to admit it was their fault. They put way, way too much responsibility and stress on me, and pawning me off to a third party didn't feel like a premium experience. Oh and there's tiny metal staples(?) poking out in random spots along the arm seam, which will scratch you if you're not careful. Overall too many problems and a lack of care for the price.

2/5 | Not a huge fan - cushions disappoint - daily fluffing required!
The couch is beautiful (before any use) - there is a lot I like about it aesthetically. What makes me regret purchasing this is the bench cushion. I opted for one large cushion because our old couch had 3 and they slid around. I thought one would be easier to manage, but I was wrong. The big issue with this couch is the daily fluffing you need to do to the seat cushion, and to some extent the back pillows. When you sit on either end of the couch the cushion sinks low and it does not spring back up. The fabric over that part of the cushion also becomes rippled and loose. You have to lift it out of the crevice and shake it around to make it appear level again. It's also very heavy, so easier said than done. This isn't something you can just do weekly or monthly - you have to do it daily or the cushions look awful. The back pillows are very comfortable but also disfigure from use, though you can fluff those easily enough. It has lost a couple of feathers, but nothing too concerning. I did pay for down alternative so not sure why I am getting real feathers, so I need to ask!

2/5 | NOT a Comfortable Sofa
I paid nearly $3000 for the Sullivan couch, specifically because it was supposed to be a 'relaxed' cushion. Don't get me wrong - to look at it, it's a beautiful piece. But I wanted a cushy sofa, and I thought this would be it. It isn't. It's hard as a rock. I thought after a bit of time, it would be improve, but after five months, it's still very firm. In addition, the back isn't high enough to support the back of head or neck, so I end up with a cramped neck. I'm extremely disappointed and feel sick about it because I paid so much money thinking I'd get a great sofa. Now I'm stuck with it. :( :(

2/5 | Uncomfortable
Sullivan Section
Starting with the positives:
1. The ordering process was very easy and enjoyable. Loved the samples and the communication with the Maiden Home team was great.
2. The couch was delivered on time and in great condition, the delivery team was professional.
3. Overall, the couch is gorgeous and fits perfectly in our room. Love the color of the leather we chose.
With that said, the couch is SO uncomfortable. I feel like I'm falling off because the back cushions are so stiff. They are also not high enough and only come up to my mid back, and I'm only 5'3". The only reason I am not returning is because of the 10% stocking fee and I don't want to have to go through the couch shopping process again as we spent about a year finding this one!

2/5 | Meh
While the shape and color looks nice, the fabric and quality does not meet their self described luxury claim. My performance fabric is pilling. I was told by their design team that it gives it a more “cotton feel” and I could shave it if I didn’t like it. So, the fact that my 6 month old couch is already slubbing isn’t a quality issue, it’s because it’s transforming into cotton. Give me a break! My problem is that this is not a high end piece and it’s not finished like a high quality piece. I will say, their customer service is very good.

2/5 | Pretty design, disappointing lack of durability
The design and shape of the Sullivan is beautiful, though be warned that the down cushions will start to appear sagging very soon (even after minimal use!)... the back cushions also fall down often, which require fixing and fluffing every now and then. Both, fine...I can deal with. However, I went with the Performance Weave (sunbrella) and it has been a nightmare quite frankly.
MH purports the fabric to be "exceptionally family-friendly and easy to maintain." Based on this description, I chose it for our family room and I could not DISAGREE more! It can withstand a bit of water fine, but anything else stains and sets in. I've meticulously followed Sunbrella's cleaning instructions, having gone as far as steam cleaning from seam to seam to avoid the apparently inevitable water rings. This is so far from "easy to maintain" - unless it won't see regular use (it's only two of us!) or you don't mind keeping a blanket over the couch to avoid spilling anything on it...which defeats the point of spending so much on a beautiful piece in the first place.
Upholstery isn't covered by MH guarantee, which I guess I'm not surprised that they will not stand by this fabric. Really disheartened by this, regardless. I made this purchase thinking it would be an investment piece for our growing family. Turns out to be far from it, and I'm stuck really wishing I had invested differently.

2/5 | Disappointing
We spent a lot of time going through many options from different companies. Based on all the wonderful reviews and Maiden Home's warranty we decided to purchase Sullivan. A few months after we placed the order our couch finally arrived but right away we noticed some wrinkles on the back of the couch which did not improve. I reported the issue shortly after the couch was delivered, back in Feb 2021 but the issue still hasn't been resolved! They are responsive and keep reassuring me that they will address the issue but there hasn't been any meaningful progress. It's quite frustrating and I'm definitely regretting our purchase considering how much we spent on this couch.

2/5 | Disappointed
My wife and I were disappointed with The Sullivan. Although sold as though it is handmade, the fabric was so taught and the stitching so stretched that clearly the fabric had been mass produced and then stretched to its limits to fit around the frame. It was also quite uncomfortable due to their being no padding whatsoever between the wooden frame and the upholstery. Unless one was to sit down ever-so-delicately, he or she ran the risk of catching a very hard wooden frame to the back of his or her neck or elbow if sitting on the end of the sofa. Also the cushions looked wrinkled and sagging after one week of very light use. The sofa would certainly not hold up to family use. All of this being noted, we asked for a refund as we were within the 30 day window advertised by Maiden Home. At that point we were informed that there would be a 10% penalty for the refund. Now, as is with most retailers who offer any sort of warranty, the devil is in the fine print details, and if you click through the website you can find the 10% penalty mentioned, but it requires just that, clicking through the fine print. It's misleading at best. The sofa has now been picked up and returned, and we are out our 10%, but better to have the 90% back to find a nice sofa than live with this one.

Hi Tyler, thank you for your review. We always appreciate the feedback, and are sorry that the Sullivan was not a good fit for your home. We can assure you that your piece was handcrafted to the same high quality standards as every other other piece in our collection, individually made by our North Carolina partners through a small-batch, custom production process. Our craftsmen take great care in the upholstery stage to ensure fabric is applied correctly to frame; it is also during this stage that layers of soft foam and microfiber are applied between the fabric and frame, which is designed to minimize fabric wear while achieving the sleek shape of the Sullivan style.
We do apologize for any confusion around our return policy. We pride ourselves on transparency, especially around our customer policies, but always welcome feedback on how we could make these more clear. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] if you have any suggestions to this effect, or questions about our product collection. We welcome the opportunity to improve our customer experience, and would love the chance to build you a piece that better suits your needs.
1/5 | Poor Cushions
We ordered the Sullivan couch and love seat about a year ago and the couch looks great overall. We are very pleased with the construction and it seems very well made. The only complaint we have is the cushions. After only one year they are flattened out and provide little support. Even after repeated attempts to fluff and rotate the seat cushions they are immediately flattened if someone sits on them. I have noticed that overall they seem thin in general, not sure if making the cushions a couple inches thicker or using another material would be better. We love the couch other than the cushions, but unfortunately that is the most used part of, and the point of, the couch is to sit on it.

1/5 | Poor Fabric Quality
While I really want to give this sectional a 5 star review, I just can't and want to share my experience with others. Overall, the sectional is beautiful and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the fabric that we chose was horrible and has not held up at all. We chose a chenille and it has pilled and worn terribly. Within less than a year I could tell that we had made a mistake in terms of the fabric. I contacted customer service and they were helpful and offered to replace the bottom cushion covers which was very generous but it really won't help with the upholstered portion of the sofa. They also suggested a fabric shaver but who wants to have to shave a $4k+ couch. Now a couple years old and the cushion covers are coming apart at the seams and I have had to resew them! Sorry, but for the price we paid for this couch I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this couch. And let me add that we are gentle with this couch. No one is allowed to eat, jump or rough house on the sofa. So very disappointed! Definitely not performance fabric like they claimed!

1/5 | Very Disappointed
Our order took nearly three months, so the estimated 5-6 weeks is not accurate. When it finally arrived, the wrong chaise was sent (ordered a left, they sent a right) and the arm of the loveseat was damaged. So we have had half a couch since April. We finally received the replacement chaise yesterday. Unfortunately, the cushion is several inches higher than the rest of the sofa and the fabric is noticeably lighter. I am still waiting for them to fix the arm of the loveseat. Frankly, I wish I had just purchased from Pottery Barn. I would have saved thousands of dollars and my sofa wouldn't look like a mismatched mess.

1/5 | It's a beautiful sofa if you never sit on it (Sullivan)
We purchased this sectional 2.5 years ago and it has not held up. We were ensured that this would be a great family sofa (we have two little ones) and it fell short of that. It hasn't held its shape no matter how often we fluff it. Feathers are flying out. It's lopsided. Seam lines on the cushions have shifted. One positive, I do like the performance tweed in charcoal, it's a great color and it is easy to clean.
It's a beautiful sofa if you never sit on it.

1/5 | I've only had it a year and I'm in the process of looking for a new couch
I'm surprised by all the amazing reviews on this couch. I genuinely was so excited for it and all the reviews sold me on it, but it hasn't lived up to the hype for us at all. The bench cushions are SOOO firm and uncomfortable, and it's no wear near deep enough for my husband and I to cozy up and cuddle on the couch which is our favorite part of the day...and this will sound dramatic but it's true that this couch has kinda ruined our cuddle time and Sunday couch naps. The back cushions were sagging so much I had to buy down feathers to refill them cause they looked so bad. We bought the performance linen in a lighter color as everyone made it sound so easy to clean, but I've cleaned this thing so many times and now it just looks splotchy cause the fabric seemed to lighten significantly where it was cleaned. The linen fabric is so tight that there's just no give, which again makes it pretty to look at but super uncomfortable. We will be reselling this couch as soon as I can convince my husband to spend another $6k on a couch when we just bought this a year ago. I really wanted to like it, but it was a big fail and I very much regret purchasing it 😞

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear The Sullivan was not an ideal fit. Our team has reached out directly to review your concerns further and to ensure you piece was made to specifications. It’s important to note that while the bench cushions may feel firm at first, they will soften over time with use. In addition, your Performance fabric is able to repel liquids and is cleanable to stains that may occur with daily wear. For more thorough cleanings, we recommend periodic professional cleanings to allow your piece to look refreshed. Please let us know of any additional questions at [email protected].
1/5 | Feathers Everywhere, Cheap Looking
We purchased The Sullivan 8 months ago, and we’re already going to buy a new sofa elsewhere. The reason? We bought it in tweed and there are feathers EVERYWHERE. All over the couch, all over our home. You can’t sit on the couch without getting stabbed by the end of a feather or five poking out through the fabric.
The couch looks okay, a little cheaper appearing in person. The metal hooks that hold the large pillow that you sit on in place have basically fallen apart - and it’s not like we’re jumping on it.
We bought a second couch at the same time from a different manufacturer in the same price range and the difference in quality is astounding. I’ll never order from Maiden Home again.
If you’re absolutely going to buy this couch, absolutely do not buy it in the tweed, unless you want a house covered in feathers. Oh, and because of the texture of the couch, the feathers can not be vacuumed off, they have to be plucked off by hand. What a waste of money this thing was.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your review on your Sullivan, and to bring your concerns with your Sullivan’s cushions and tie-downs to our attention. To provide some additional information regarding the feathers you’re seeing, feathers can naturally escape the cotton ticking encasing your Sullivan’s down feather fill in a natural process called feather migration. This process happens because our team uses a blend of very fine feather fill and a breathable cotton ticking to encase this fill, to allow for breathability in the cushion insert and a resulting relaxed, comfortable sit. As long as there are no holes or tears in your cushion inserts, this process of light feather migration is to be expected, and should not accelerate or impact the performance of your cushions over time. If you do not wish to see these feathers, we do offer cushion inserts in Down Alternative and are able to explore the pricing of these inserts with our craftsmen partners if you would prefer - please reach out to our Customer Care team at [email protected].
The damage to your tie-down hardware is not something we typically see throughout our collection. We would be happy to review any photos you may be able to send along so that we can recommend best next steps. If we may answer any questions at all in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out - we are always happy to hear from you.
1/5 | Buyer Beware!
Beautiful photos and descriptions of their furniture, with a lot of talk about “artisans” and “craftsmen” but their Sullivan sofa is the most uncomfortable, poorly designed sofa I’ve ever owned $3000 (x2) out the window. Super promising emails from customer support that go on and on but they never work for the customer. They DO NOT CARE if you are dissatisfied over a $6000 purchase. They just keep repeating that the sofa meets THEIR quality standards. Who cares if it meets their standards when it’s the customer’s standards that should matter! After months of going back and forth with them, I cut my losses and sent the sofas to a consignment shop. AND THEY COULD NOT SELL THEM, even at the lowest price point. Don’t get sucked in by their pretty pictures and claims.
Do your research on this company. You must dig deep! They’ve done well at covering their tracks. Do not be fooled by their website reviews! They have fake Instagram pages that make glowing comments on their posts. Once I called them out on this, their fake accounts blocked me. @perryisscary was their main fake account. This account bullies people who comment about their dissatisfaction on social media.
I realize my review will be sent to Maiden Home so they can respond. And they will. With one of their monotonous and canned, but very nice brush off e-mails. Over and over again. It goes something like this:
Thank you for your message and for your feedback, and I am very sorry to hear this. When concerns do arise with our pieces, we are always eager to review all concerns thoroughly with our design team, as quality is our top priority. In reviewing your photos, we were able to confirm that your cushions do look to be crafted to our expectations, and that regular regulating, or adjusting, of your cushions should allow the fill to remain consistently distributed throughout your cushions over time as your pieces are used. If we may review any additional photos, please just let us know, and we will be happy to review with our team.
Nice but full of fluff. Very uncomfortable fluff.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on The Sullivan Sofa, and we’re sorry to hear that it wasn’t a perfect fit. We designed The Sullivan with a down-blend cushion construction which gives the piece a relaxed comfort profile. We paired this relaxed design with a supportive foundation of eight-way hand tied springs. With the down-filled construction and its seamless bench cushion style, The Sullivan has a feel of lofty, melt-in comfort. We understand that comfort is personal, and this style may not be for everyone. We would love the opportunity to serve you again in the future, and are happy to better understand your family’s comfort and design preferences and match you with a style that you’ll love for years to come.
1/5 | Fabric pilling and sagging
Ordered the Sullivan sofa and received it last fall…just 6 months later the “performance” fabric is badly pilling and sagging. It looks like a cheap sofa, which is really disappointing given the price point.

1/5 | Worst sofa ever
I’m not sure how these have such good reviews. I got the Sullivan sectional and it’s the most uncomfortable sofa. The down pokes thru the sofa and it doesn’t get any better after time. I normally like a down sofa but I’ve never seen/ felt so many pokey feathers. I do like that the fabric is performance, but the seams aren’t finished so when you wash it you have thread soup so then one has to spend a good amount of time trimming all the threads so you can zip it back up. I used the sofa for about six months before moving it into storage. In that time it began to pill and look dingy.
Spent $4,500 and will try to sell for $500.
Their communication is great. Kudos to the employees.

Hi Amy, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your Sullivan! As Quality is our top priority, we would like to review your concerns with your cushions and fabric thoroughly with our team. Our Customer Care Manager has been in touch to request more information directly. Please also note that we do not recommend washing your Sullivan cushion covers, as our slipcovered Dune and Leonard collections are our only styles for which we recommend machine-washing of the upholstery. Please let us know of any questions at all at [email protected]!
1/5 | Delivery
Sofa was too big to fit in elevator. Delivery team recommended hiring a disassembly service which costs an additional $550. Maidenhome said options are to send sofa back to warehouse ($200 re-delivery fee) and then arrange a furniture disassembler (additional $550) for the delivery date or hire a third party furniture disassembler to come same day. Maidenhome does not help with any of the additional costs.

1/5 | Poor design
I was so excited about this couch and over the last 6 weeks I have become so disappointed in my purchase. The puckering in the cushion they described as normal but looks very sloppy even when fluffed. The word of it is the back cushions when sat on sink down to 1/2-3/4 the height they should be. Seems they did not stuff them enough or just a poor design because as you sit your head starts to rest on frame as the pillows creep downward, which is not comfortable. Unfortunately now that I’ve owned it for 6 weeks I am unable to return. I gladly pay the 10% to return this couch. I bought other products from maiden home that I love but this couch was not one of them.

Hi Jenny, thank you so much for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your Sullivan sectional. As we discussed, the wrinkling that you see on your piece's bench cushion is to be expected due to the size the cushion, and nature of the down-and-feather fill. Especially on a very large piece as yours, we would expect some settling of the cushion which contributes to the Sullivan's relaxed look and comfort profile. This wrinkling is easily addressed through regular fluffing and rotating of your bench cushion. The Sullivan's back cushions are down-and-feather filled as well, so they are more relaxed in terms of both look and feel; however, we do sew all of our back cushions with three individual horizontal channels to mitigate crushing and ensure they come back to their full shape with maintenance. While the comfort of down fill can't be matched, and it is what has made the Sullivan our most popular sofa style, it does come with a maintenance requirement. We apologize if this was not inline with your expectations. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] with any additional questions. Thank you again for choosing us to be a part of your home!
1/5 | Back cushions slightly better than the sectional
The back cushions sink well below the line of the sofa making the couch much less comfortable. This is more pronounced on the matching sectional as if those are less filled than the exact coordinating sofa we ordered. My husband and I have been getting in constant fights as if this is my fault.
